Mark Walton averaged 3.5 yards per carry on 130 carries. His ceiling is basically Mike James. That's not chopped liver by any stretch, but it's not elite by any stretch either.

I wouldn't put Mark Walton in such a box after only his freshman year with such a terrible run blocking offensive line. Very unfair

not to mention he had atleast 20 to 30 carries on the goal line where he gained no yards or lost yards because the offensive line got their sht pushed back right into him . Thatll kill an average . Add in the fact that he had nunerous long runs called back because of penalties . Yal slouching him. I think he has a great year next year . In curious to see who gets the bulk of the carries between Gus, Yearby, and Walton

this is an idiotic thread. who cares what 2 yr haul is when one was a desperation class from golden and the other is a 1 month on job class where golden was trying to keep the top kids and add a few others.

next year is the class to grade this team on. richt and his staff aren't just gonna sign guys to sign them they sh owed they only go after the guys they think are top notch talents. they drop guys they don't think are good enough for miami.

this staff worked very hard to get some kids like kobe jones and marcell southall and shayim carter and the fact they landed malek young, romeo finley won richards from bama, shows they can recruit.

next years class will not have many te's 1 at most with njoku,herndon,washington,irvin 3, and haskins thats 5 te's on roster to start 2017. but will add 4 ol guys at least probably 6 or more. will add 4 wr;s , 2 rb's and watch then land a stud dt or 2 and some stud cb's ,

redwine, young are ballers, jackson is a 6foot 1 press cover guy who should be a good player also. yes losing byrd hurt. no doubt but once miami dropped recruiting fils-aime byrd was gone. simple as that and given a guy a spot to keep byrd when u don't th ink is miami quality rb is idiotic.

Biggest issues I have with the 2 year haul are:

(1) OL quality: Seems like we took a bunch of reaches last year and, of course, only took one kid this year
(2) CB depth: Quality is decent but we are gonna pay for the lack of depth in '17 and '18.
(3) WR depth: Quality is actually very good. But again, the lack of depth is going to create some problems in the years to come.

The silver lining with CB and WR is that those are positions that freshman can thrive in. So as long as we recruit well in '17, we can be ok. The OL situation scares the **** out of me.

People forget that Mark Walton would have been a 5* RB had he stayed in his right classification. Mike James is definitely not his ceiling. I would say James Jackson type career is his ceiling.

Can you imagine (and I know its depressing) how phucked we would be right now if Jaquan hadnt begged Golden to give Redwine another look and if Redwine hadnt had pity on us and decided to not come? We would literally have Elder, Mayes, Henley, and MJackson as our CBs going into Spring. Smh. AT MIAMI!

CB has to be a C-. And its actually not Richts fault. He did the best he could. We got REALLY lucky with MYoung. And we got REALLY unlucky with the "Pigeon" flipping.

WR depth is fine. In fact, Langham probably will transfer out after Spring if he sees he cant hack it. We have 3 dawgs coming in the Fall and they plan on being in the two deep by any means.

Just because some are fans, does not make them knowledgeable about the intricacies of the game. Football is a remains a team sport, not just a one man gang.

Yearby averaged 4.9 yards with the same line, so Walton averaging 1.5 yards less is not good, regardless of how the line played. Talentwise, I think Yearby = Cooper, Walton = James (Mike & Javarris).

Nice players, but nowhere near the Studs they were made out to be on their signing day.

I like Homer, but feel the same way about him that I do Yearby & Walton - he'll be more of a contributor than a difference maker.
