I mean I think part of it is aint much else over there. Think of it, state of Florida has 3 "big" schools, GA right over the border, Clemson not far, Bama in the middle of everything. Texas has UT and A&M, Oklahoma just over the border, **** even your michigan OSU, and penn states to take care of the north.... But you head west? USC competes with who? UCLA? Oregon yes but much further north.... BYU? San Diego State? Cal every once in a blue moon? could you imagine our recruiting if no UF or FSU? Cali is wayyy too big with wayyy too many good players for only one prominent school and kids from way west tend to not come this far east.
