Trenches MIA VS. FLA

Does anyone know, statistically, how well Kinchens and Williams were in pass coverage? I only ask because Miami ranked so poorly in pass plays over 20+ yards. I just wonder how much of a drop off it's going to be, specifically around coverage back there.
Dog****. Suck them off all u like but those 2 were *** last year compared to the hype. If we get 2 new guys that just don’t give up big plays it’s an improvement

If you had to guess, who do you think starts at nickel?
Idk honestly.

Depends on what Guidry is looking for at Nickel & who they put at Left Corner/Boundary.

Porter Jr will be the RCB/Field & they have to replace JDavis & TCouch.

I would assume they put Dyoni Hill at Boundary given his experience as a starter in the same spot & his familiarity with the Defense, but who knows how that goes.

Cant find it now but Powell from Washington had a much better PFF vs the pass than Kinchens or Williams

This will be a high-emotion rivalry game.

I think the keys to this game:

1. Cam Ward extending plays/running. He will carry the team all year.

2. No big mistakes on defense like blown coverage. Just play correctly. No freelancing.

3. No ******* personal fouls. These penalties will kill drives and literally take points off the board. Our lack of discipline under Mario combined with his gameday ineptitude will lose us this game. I wish these kids knew how to work the refs.
#3 was the achilles heel of the Canes last year. Other teams like Rutgers would do dirty crap and get their own personal fouls just to get our players acting crazy. The refs didn't help. Canes have to be better than last year.

The amount of chirping after every play was tiresome.

Maybe that improves with 42 new players but we racked disciprine all season.

Man, is it really 42 new players? That puts things into perspective.

I’m very confident that our offense is going to put up a lot of points and yards in this game. The key for me on defense in this game, and all year really, is our front seven and edge rushers being able to put immense pressure on their QB and not giving him time while also forcing some turnovers. If we can do this, our secondary doesn’t need to be elite or all-world, but just “solid.” I could see opposing offenses trying to test our DB’s all season, but if the QB is constantly under pressure it becomes a moot point.

Miami 35

Florida 21

Yes, I said that he will be a better safety than both. The other safety spot will be the question.
Have to believe that competition among Harris, Williams, Patterson will produce a viable option next to Powell.

I mean they’d only have to be solid imo, our front 6/7 will be a big strength of the team. How much time do you think teams will have to throw the ball?

The only other recruits (from the 24 class) I'd make arguments for would be Dylan Raiola & Cam Coleman. But otherwise, this is pretty accurate IMO.

If Napier bets the house on Mertz, he's as good as fired & whoever their next HC is has no choice but to get Lagway ready if he's not already starting by the 25 season.

Basically their next 2/3 seasons hinges on how fast the can get Lagway up to speed. Because if they don't get him developed quick, he'll be a big time Portal commodity.

The only think that matters to me is that we're not seeing Lagaway in game 1 unless Mertz has a total meltdown or is injured. Maybe in the 4th quarter if one team is up by 3 TDs, but I doubt it as I don't think either team will let up. If we beat them, that most likely means UF is going to have another losing season, and Napier is gone regardless.

I personally don't think Lagaway ends his career at UF.
