Trayvone Gray Best Position

The most hyped three star ever.

Do you think he was a 3 star because of 3 star talent, or because recruiting sites basically couldn't care less, as they all assumed he was going to be an academic casualty?

I'm thinking the latter.

Devin Hester comes to mind although not as fast when I think of someone to compare him to as far as he just needs the ball in his hands and position is just titled X. So I could see him lining up everywhere from QB to RB to WR to H-Back, and most definitely returner. With his size if he could work on that speed could also remind you of a Julio Jones at the wide out position.

I really cant agree with your logic. It didn't stop them from giving TV a 4* rating, or Derrick Griffin.. There have been TONS of highly rated guys not make it because of grades and it never stopped the sites from giving them a ranking. I was always under the impression it was more because he did not play in a bunch of camps and 7v7 tourneys... But maybe I was thinking someone else.....

At what position will Trayone Gray be the most effective for this team?

His best position right now would be red shirting.
Next year, wide receiver.

So he's the next Lamar Miller.

Hopefully.
Let's not forget that he's athletically gifted, but academically challenged, and his new play book is going to be at least 10 times larger and more complex than anything he's ever seen.

Remember Devin Hester?

Academically challenged? U make it sound like he has a learning disability. Kids struggle in the classroom for a myriad of reasons. He took care of business when it came down to the wire, so we know he's motivated

And a playbook is far from rocket science. Some of the most natural and instinctive football players are boneheads in the classroom. His struggles in the classroom will have nothing to do with how well he grasps the playbook

I guess you don't remember Devin Hester.

Offensive Weapon

This. He is one of those players who shouldn't be locked into a position. Line him at WR and throw him screens or run some sweeps, motion him from the slot into the backfield, line him up at RB and throw some screens or swing passes, use him for traditional runs. The options for what you can do with this kid offensively seem endless.

Recruiting sites base their rankings on potential. They all want to be able to say 4 years later at the NFL Draft, "look how accurate we are."

Chad Thomas is the perfect example. He has unlimited potential. He could be the next Jason Pierre Paul, but did he have the stats of a 5 star defensive end his senior season?
No, he didn't.

Personally, I could care less about recruiting rankings.
I believe in the eyeball test.
Is the prospect the best player on the field? Does he dominate? Is he playing at his plateau, or is his best football still years off?

kid can be dangerous at qb with dorsette on the outside you won't have to worry about safeties coming up in the box..

He can probably play RB, but I think his $ position is at WR.

Gray is like a god on this board.... lol. I'm looking forward to seeing him. Should had prob been a 5 star athlete.... 4 at the least.

Reminds me a little athletically of Tremain Mack. I'd like to see if he's as fearless on the field as Mack because if he is he could do crazy damage as a KR early on.

He may be a three star, but he has the film of a MONSTER recruit. The film don't lie.
