Travis Hunter

There’s really nothing not to like about Hunter, except one thing - posing for the Heisman while losing to Kansas. That was weak. Call it immaturity. Call it scripting from Deion. Doesn’t matter; it’s a poor look. But that’s it. He’s terrific at both positions and is also an academic all American. Seems to be a pretty good kid.

Agree to disagree. I see an immature insecure athlete who In college has chosen not to challenge himself with better competition. Yes he’s a first rounder he’s great athlete. Yet and still seems like a question mark.

Immature because he went to HBCU originally and blazed his own trail?

You gotta look at it from the other side, young black top notch athlete goes to an HBCU him and Deion absolutely brought the profile of the HBCU league up severely. That's fantastic not only for him but from a general population and cultural perspective, beyond football!

I understand your perspective of didn't challenge himself for harder competition and rightfully so, but the above statement is true, and he was loyal to Deion Sanders and followed him and its really worked out great for him professionally, and as someone else mentioned he's an Academic All American as well, he's not messing with co-eds and is on locked down regarding that.

So with the above being true, if your own son was an Academic All American, potentially top overall NFL pick, does well financially, works hard and has a loving relationship, you would turn around and call your son immature and desecrate him because he didn't play in the right conference to challenge himself evcen though he's going to be the #1 pick?

I think fans and general population have really REALLY high standards for athletes because of potentially optics (in this case Sanders and Heisman poses), which aren't even that bad.

Dude plays offense full-time and then proceeds to just play the most difficult position on the football field on a level that qualifies him to be either CB1 or CB2.

Imagine being a Top 2 prospect at WR and CB AT THE SAME EXACT TIME and people go "nah, he ain't all that".

People dislike Deion, and so do I, but every time I see Hunter in an interview, I see someone trying to be great and be serious with his craft. Something that a few players on this program could replicate...
Agreed look beyond the shades and the person (even though he's fine, compare him to someone like Pat McAfee, yikes) and he's done a great job at Colorado.
If the P12 was still together they likely wouldn't have won as much but likely still .500 pending schedule, coming from a program that was complete junk.
Ppl just don't like flashy especially when they're successful. If you don't like it shut your mouth, work harder and beat them. Putting them down doesn't make you be MORE successful. The put downs come from those in jealous positions or are insecure.

Because Travis knew the PAC 12 was going to implode right? That would be the same PAC 12 that had Oregon.

I’ll accept your take on the immature and insecure part, although I’m not sure I agree. The second half of what you wrote is pure nonsense that was created to justify your disdain which was proven by my comments regarding the PAC 12.

Hunter reminds me of Ohtani because, on top of the talent, he is so locked in on his sport.

The word generational is overused but these guys are doing things we haven’t seen in generations.
That's the part that gets undersold on TH, his commitment to excellence.

He's internally motivated & a player that isn't looking for quick fame & instant gratification. He doesn't mind following his own path, while not looking for the easy way out. He's a kid that’s not looking for shortcuts, that's a telltale sign of his future success in the league.

I was only a hater because I wanted Cam to win, but even then I gave Travis his credit. After it was blatantly obvious Cam wasn't winning anymore, I don't see how anyone can say he did not deserve it. Most people consider Woodson to be the best two way player in college history and Hunter blew him out of the water in terms of offensive production while also producing a top 5 grade almost across the board as a CB. It's not even close. We've never seen a single player do what Hunter just did. There's of course been better seasons posted individually by a CB and a WR but never combined like this.

Maybe it's not so much immaturity is it is he doesn't always come across as the most assured kid in front of the camera but that could also be a product of his ADHD which is very evident when you listen to him speak.. I don't mind the HBCU thing because he was playing for Dion but let's not act like the big 12 was gonna pose a challenge for him being the best athlete on the field at all times like I said he's a first rounder I just have questions when he goes up against the NFL's wide receivers

Yes he is. His mom moved him to GA. I played ball with his entire family. He was on the sidelines and along with steen on the eagles crazy to seee them grow up.
I heard he had some older brothers or other relatives that were talented but unfortunately got caught up in the streets.
