Shouldn’t be, not when there’s better prospects available.
He’s not a true CB, he’s a slow big bodied Hybrid player, he’s basically a Safety & we need a cover Corner.
If we go after him instead of Latrell McCutchin it would be a total mistake, don’t care what anyone says.

Are we after any MLBs? That might be our biggest need.
Wouldn't make sense for it to be an either or scenario. One is a corner. The other would be Frierson competition if we're still going with a hybrid player position. My thought is Brini can start for an elite defense. Even if an injury led to it. Could Frierson run with those dawgs? No pun intended. If Brini is just a guy you can depend on not to get fat in the offseason he might add value.
Dabo knows DJ will transfer if he loses the job in the spring. This is just a depth piece.

When every single player around you is a 5-star, it’s much easier to play & look like you’re better than you are.
And adding another Hybrid is unnecessary when we have guys like Keontra Smith, Jalen Harrell & James Williams.
We need a CB, BAD.
Didn't the Canes not pursue him as hard bc he was too stiff and not a fluid athlete.

He wasn’t good enough to play a UGA until literally his 4th year as a Senior, dude sat on the bench so long he started to grow roots on the sideline in Athens...
But now after 5 years he deserves to come back to Miami & start lol

Yea man pass on this guy. Need pure cover corners.
Unless we're filling up with space or our coaches are incapable of multi-tasking not sure why bringing in another body who has started games messes with the pursuit of a CB.

What does Brini have to do with corners? Thats like saying don't take the USC DL because we need corners. If our coaches would allow Brini or another player like him to stop their pursuit of a cover corner then we're screwed anyway.

We’re not counting on him, the point is, we have multiple players who are capable at the position, adding a used up 5th year senior is unnecessary.
And it’s not a matter of multi-tasking, it’s a matter of limited transfers available, CB is a higher priority than another Hybrid. When you only have 7 transfers that can be added, you have to be prudent with who you choose to bring in.
CB supersedes our need for a Safety, so get a CB.
What is the point of pursuing a DB if he not going to be a cover corner with our roster construction?

Small correction fam, we are not limited to 7 portal players, we are limited to a max of 7 additional IC's IF we have 7 (or more) players transfer after Dec 15.
Like right now with transfers I think we are at 13 players. If we have our full allotment of 25 ICS (I say if because I think we used a 2022 IC or 2 on a late 2021 addition and counted him forward) then get our full allotment of 7 additional ICS (again assuming we had at least 7 transfer after the deadline, do not think we are there currently however)
Then in theory we could add 19 players from the portal (assuming no HS recruits), there is no allocation limit in how you use the IC's.
