Training Camp Progress Update - Rousseau

The OL/DLs are not my thing and would love to read @gogeta4's take on this, but Rousseau has a pterodactyl-like wingspan (think it's close to 7 feet) and absurd arm length (think it was 35"). That **** kinda helps in leverage. Ha.

When I watched him before his Frosh year here, I used to say he looked like an Anaconda around the corner. Don't know how he projects 5 years from now in terms of weight and specific position, but his freakish arm length will always be valuable in the L.
You had me at pterodactyl.

The thing with Greg was he’s basically bust proof. If you have his athleticism, a 7 foot wingspan, & can play inside & outside how the **** can you be bad?
That's what blew me away when all these teams passed him up. How can you look at that Dinosaur Trex of a human and not take him.

My whole thing, D, was the absurd hate he got on this board. It literally made zero sense, and this was all b/c he sat out to protect himself & his family? Smh.

Like I said, this dude has Go-Go Gadget reach. He keeps OL from getting into his body b/c of it. There’s just somethings u can’t teach, and GR possess a lot of it. If my guy has 100+ “clean up sacks” for his career, so be it. Lol
Wish him nothing but the best, still think him sitting out was complete BS.

Love to see the positive reports on Rousseau - hope they keep coming. Excited to see what he can do.

I understand his slide in the draft due to his athletic testing - but I always leaned to throw that out, he's just going to work. Being so productive at such a young age means something, and I think his size/length/wingspan are hard for OL to account for because it's so freakishly different than norm.

The stuff about "clean-up" sacks was my favorite.

If a guy is getting clean-up sacks every game, his length, quickness and instincts may have something to do with it.
I can almost guarantee teams were throwing some of that out there with the hopes he fell to the 2nd round.

Did it again today. Pretty much went through the RT on his way to the QB. Penalty on the play, but dude's arm length is something different.

Yeah, when you have 15 sacks and don't even start multiple games, it's not a coincidence. He still had way more solo sacks than most guys had total sacks as well so that was a truly idiotic argument.

I was always amazed at his first couple steps, they eat up so much ground..he’s already on top of OT’s before they can do anything about it.

Calais Campbell
Yeah he's like a smaller Calais. I think he was a hard player for NFL people to evaluate because alot of his sacks aren't the highlight level variety. Alot of them are to the inside of the tackle where he doesn't get a clean hit or hustle sacks where he gets a hand on you and the QB trips. Those two preseason sacks are exactly the kind of sacks he got at Miami. A sack is a sack whether it's a monster hit or not.

His interview after he got drafted was off the charts. I am pulling for him to dominate the league. The Bills have something cookin’ up there in central NY.
