Tracy Howard's Improvement This Year...

He just needed time...

He has the rest of the tools and discipline!

I'm glad he chose to become a Cane!

I would argue he was the most important/visible recruiting success of his class (except maybe Duke). He committed in the darkest of days when the "scandal" was hovering about and he could have easily chosen the "easy way out". I think of him when Golden talks about those who chose to stand with the U when it counted. When he did the the national signing day ceremony and threw up the U....I jumped of the couch cheering.

Turning point and a "great get".

Now on top of that he seems to be a hard worker who gets steady praise from the coaches and clearly makes an impact on the field. My dream; a pick six vs. Winston.....

On and off the field, probably the most improved player on the team. Plays like a beast on the field and has shown a ton of maturity off of it.

He reminds me of Brandon Harris and the improvement he made from year 1 to year 2.

Brandon Harris had 3 career interceptions. And put a cherry on top of that he ended his career by being absolutely abused by Michael Floyd. I hate the comparison.

Harris was still 1st team all acc as a soph and led the nation in pass breakups. He was abused his freshman year. Thats what he meant.....

He said he wants to be a 1st round pick in 3 years well he's on his way...

He's a 4 year kid... Nothing wrong with that but I think it would benefit it him to stay. (physically/combine wise)

Idk about that he can get physically bigger and faster next year and in the offseason before the combine.. He's about 5'10.5 183 6 to 7 more pounds and thats average size of a NFL CB. He has long arms so that is also a plus for an elite CB. If he improves just a lil and makes ALL ACC he will declare next season for the draft. Roberson is projected late 1st this season and Howard is better than him right now...

Not wild about it either though Brandon did make a nice leap between his first two years. He just never took that next step. Don't want to exaggerate too much but Tracy has a chance in under two weeks to really put his stamp on this team, moreso than maybe Brandon ever did.

He and Gunter are the keys to beating FSU. If they can press Greene and Benjamin off the line and allow us to bring heat on Winston all game, I think we cause some turnovers and sacks.

All I know is that he has the same number of interceptions as passes completed against.
I may be off either + or - on this, but I think he's only given up 2-3 receptions in 6 games and none for a significant gain or a td.

In the pass happy world of college football, to give up basically nothing as a cb in half a season is astounding.

Aside from that bull**** deep post caught on him when we were playing softer than baby **** coverage at the end of the UF game, I can't remember a ball being completed on him.

I don't even count that one. Didn't we only have 10 guys on the field?

What I like is that despite having 2 int's, no passes completed against him against UNC when Tracy was interviewed he wasn't wearing a black jersey.
Coaches are riding him for that missed tackle and interference call.
They are going to ride him to be perfect then ride him some more.
He seems to have the personality that can handle the criticism, and motivating tactics.
He's only going to get better, and right now he's better than anyone else in college football.

He and Gunter both should get some post-season recognition. Neither are superfreaks but they're playing well. On paper we should have arguably the best secondary in the ACC in 2014. Need healthy Deon back ASAP though.

Safety could very well be an issue next year. An injury to ray or Deon and were shuffling positions or playing true freshmen. Hopefully j carter is ready to roll.

LoL at him being here four years. If he keeps playing the way he is playing, he is out next year. Duke, him, Flowers and Deon(Dad's cancer) are gone next year

Tracy has always been the kid where physically he isn't anything special. He isn't the fastest or quickest or most physical, he doesn't have incredible hands. He has the mental part of the game. He just knows what everyone is doing and what he has to do and does it better than everyone. You can't find anything better than that.

Good post other than the bolded part. He actually has great hands.

Don't be surprised to see him hit the waiver wire or surprise us with a JUCO no one's thinking about right now.

That interference call was weak as **** too! I don't believe he actually touched the guy before the ball got there.
