Tracy Howard

He has been beaten, and we all know he was never a burner. Let's give it some time. There won't be any microwaving in trying to turn this program around. Its gonna be a minute......

Whatever his limitations, the problem is that our secondary is so devoid of upper class talent, we have to rely on him, or another freshman. these guys should be redshirting, but we don't have that luxury.

Who cares what his 40 time is? When have you ever seen a CB get in a 3 point stance and start sprinting when the ball is snapped?

:ohlord:

He's slow....period

My points are that the difference between a good start and a bad start can easily give you +/- .3 on a 40 time, so track guys have higher 40s (they work a lot on the start), and that straight-line sprinting does not directly relate to football speed/covering. We're talking about elite athletes here. The kid is not slow regardless of what his 40 time is.

He's 2 games into his Freshman year at college going up against grown men. Sure he's going to get burnt, he's not ******* Darrelle Revis, but he's going to make plays as well. Cut the kid some slack, let him grow and mature, and be happy that he signed with the Canes when he starts doing well.

It's amazing how "fans" are throwing our players under the bus so quickly. These are TRUE FRESHMEN.

All I said was that he's slow.

The kid is slow... Everyone knew that when he was signed but it doesn't mean he can't eveolve into a great college player... Mike rumph wasn't a burner either... That being said, the kid should red-shirt... I know we don't have the luxury of doing that but we play like 20 cb's anyway and what the point of signing Gunter from a juco if he not in our immediate plans? I don't care if the kid was the number 1 cb in the country, he needs to learn the system and improve on his physical limitations... We were hearing how he was better than B. Harris right now which is ridiculous... Yea its 2 games but he hasn't played aginst any top notch wideouts yet either... He needs to get faster because that 4.65 or 4.7 will continue to hinder him...

Tracy will be fine.

I find it hard to believe that some here would just rip and rip at young men who just got here and are still spooling up for college.

Guys who rip youngsters remind me of summer vacation. No class.

No one is crowning him bruh. Just give him time. He has played 2 collegiate games.

Pretty sure many have crowned him. I.E. see the youtube clips. tell me no one on here "most" haven't already crowned Duke

Tracy would perform a lot better if we had him in press coverage. In hs and in 7v7 tourneys, he was always a great press corner. He also played some safety in a few of the 7v7's. Not worried about the 40. Janoris Jenkins ran a 4.6 as a freshman, and he looked good against top-level competition.

First off.... For a young kid, i think he reacted to the double move pretty well. I remember Brandon McGee got beat severely on a double move that went for a TD as a young CB.

From the play I saw, T. Howard showed off his quick feet, in order to change of direction and recover quickly... The kid was still in on the play, and dove for the ball, while being smart enough to stay in position to make the tackle.

The Safety didn't have to run 50 yards down-field to make the tackle for him.

You guys are just bitter after a loss, which is understandable. But why point a freshman out taht still has plenty of upside? There should be an uproar for Telemaque's play.

I agree, but I'm pretty sure with the young team the coaches have, they want to make sure all the guys are playing with the system. He's too young to be allowed to freelance, outside of the defensive call.

If you allow it for one player, it's hard to avoid freelancing from the whole team, then everything gets out of control.
