Torrance Gibson

Former local 5* transferring to Mississippi Gulf Coast CC.

Mississippi Gulf Coast has confirmed that it received a letter of intent from Torrance Gibson, signaling his turbulent career with Ohio State is likely over now. The former five-star recruit, who moved from quarterback to wide receiver thanks to his

Went with Ohio State in part because we wanted him to play receiver, and OSU said he could play quarterback. Was almost immediately switched from QB to WR once he got there.

Sucks to suck.

Wasn't he suspended all year for 2016? If he were to come to UM, would 2016 count as his sit out year?

Isn't UM looking for receivers? Just sayin.

IMO, this has nothing to do with talent, or not wanting to be a WR. Kid was making plays at WR in their spring game.

He had been suspended for this whole season, I bet it has more to do with that than anything else.

I just read a little bit on Gibson. According to reports, the school suspended him not the football program. Apparently, his position coach and Meyer both were against him being suspended, and it sounds like they felt he was going to be an impact player. I would pump the breaks on him not being an ultra talented football player. I'd take him right now. And if Bruce gets his life together, I'd take him back too.

OSU was hot commodity with Urban Fraud working with someone elses recruits and those kids bought into the hype. We had al fraud, dorito/ paul nobody and sucked. They wanted to be a part of something hot and got burned. It's life. I would love to turn the clock back and get a redo. They still young enough to get a second chance. Not like they are a menace to society.

Funny thing is that these type of deals won't hurt Ol' Urb's reputation down here one bit. If the same scenario was with us then fools like Grandpa Luke would be going public about us lying to kids or that we don't care about them and that we're banned on certain high school campuses now.

Not sure what urb has done wrong in this scenario, but your point about luke is legit. That ****** throws us under the bus every chance he gets. You don't see people do that **** to any other school. Guess that's the price of "celebrity" fans...they care more about being seen and heard than supporting the team.

I don't care enough to dig into the details to determine if Urb actually did do anything to be criticized here but I do know that based off reading this part of an article:

"When he did eventually sign with the Buckeyes, the staff insisted it was as a quarterback, but that didn’t take long to change. By the end of his first full week of fall camp, he had joined the Buckeyes’ wide receivers group.

Initially touted as temporary, the move quickly turned permanent."

that the Luke types would just characterize what happened as us lying to the kid about playing QB and then ******** him over/not caring about him later.

LOL @ him being a quarterback. Kid could barely complete passes against air.

Elite athlete though. Sick combination of size and speed. At 6'4"-6'5" he was Heritage's fastest player on a team that was loaded with speed.

Huge head case and arrogant to boot. You could see this coming.

Reality is that this isn't about him going to Ohio Taint or falling for Urban's spiel as much as it's about the fact he just didn't get it together. Probably would have been a bust here also.
