Quarterback: Gibson has the ability to make most of the throws you expect from a qb. He has great touch on his deep ball, fade route post and dig routes. In my opinion, his flaws as a qb comes from playing multiple position and multiple sports. When he came into heritage as a freshman, he had better footwork and an over the top delivery. After playing baseball and running track i noticed more of a 3 quarter deliver but the ball still comes out as if he throws it over the top (if that makes sense.) That makes some of his short and intermediate throws come out low. He also needs to improve his footwork. All of this is correctible. However i grade qbs by their "eyes". Personally what separates a great qb from a good is how fast he diagnoses a defense and goes through his progression. I think you either have it or you dont. Look at FSWho, they basically had the same offensive talent two years in a row. The difference was a guy who could read and chop up a defense quickly. I could be wrong but it normally catches up to qbs in the nfl if they cant do it.
WR: At 6'4" 200lbs running a 4.36 laser and jumping over 40", there isnt much he cant do. He has big strong hands where he plucks a ball out of the air with ease. One of my favorite attributes of his as a wr is his ability to get small on one play and be a massive wr on another. No one wants the big clunky receiver running a wr screen. He transforms himself into a 5'8" shifty wr with great feet and gets up the field quickly. If its a deep ball he knows how to use his body to shield a db. He is also great at sinking his hips in and out of breaks which makes it hard for a db to hold onto him but his huge wingspan gives a qb a big target. There are three former NFL dbs on the coaching staff and they all admit that they couldnt cover him in their prime.
All in all i think the Terrelle Pryor comparison is very accurate. With the right coaching he can be a great qb. He wants to play qb. But do u think the detroit lions really care if Megatron can throw 60yds? Id rather give him the ball in space.
