I can't take an evaluator serious when every prospect they review u feel like you got a good player. Then when they play they didn't mean he ran a four flat they meant he ran like he had four flats.

I just had a dude right now in front talking about portals and mountains on earth were once big trees. I'm like can I smoke in peace ni99a, I told him I disagree respectfully.

The 247 criteria for a 5 star is limited to the amount of first round picks. Which means it’s flawed to begin with.
And they give bonus points if they commit to a highly ranked team because according to them those teams put out more 1st round draft picks. So according to them if a 5 star chooses another team that’s not a frontrunner they drop their rating because it means they have less of a chance of being a first round pick.

The fact that they won’t follow the ratings of the dude that actually invented their system is very telling and goes with what I’ve been saying that they sssuck up to and leak info to the benefit of those programs.

Miami put out 2 first round picks at defensive end recently and neither Bain, Moss, or Wayne were able to either keep their 5 star status or reach it because they chose UM.

That’s not conspiracy, those are their words and Ivins said it on footballville when he was asked why certain players get dropped when they pick certain schools and which players get bumped.

Do you remember a few years ago when a player got rated as a four star because he kept claiming offers from Bama osu and uga? They were all fake including the player.
Yeah, I don't think a lot of people realize exactly how 247 comes up with their star rankings. It's not based on how good of a college player the kid might be. It's based on where they see him getting drafted. It's why a guy like Bain was a 4 star despite being one of the most productive players in the nation playing against the nation's top competition. It's just that 6'2" DEs don't get drafted in the first round very often. They also base a lot of their rankings on what schools are offering players. I mean I trust the evals at places like Alabama and Ohio State over the evals of the 247 staff. You can run into problems because technically, schools aren't allowed to comment on recruits before they sign so "offers" can be completely made up by players.

But yeah, since the star system is based on projected draft picks, of course the schools that have reputations for churning out top picks are going to get bumps vs schools who don't have a ton of first round picks. It's also why you don't really see 5 star interior o-linemen. There aren't very many of those positions that get drafted in the first round. It's also why even the best kickers/punters are only rated 3 star players.

Really like the Jaelan Phillips comparisons. Very similar builds both coming out of high school with freakish athleticism and reach.
