All I needed was to see his Hudl which was posted here ( didnt dare watch until he committed) to see that this kid is an easy five star in his sleep.
@DMoney alluded to the way coaches view him as one of those "6 or 7" first round whales.

Tom Lemming the origninator of the star classification system had some thoughts on twitter when he called Lightfoot a 5 star and was challanged by a twitter user:

those conversations highlight the hilarity of social media and how it’s destroyed common sense conversation

Lemming been doing this since before most people were born and he calls the kid a 5 star

Inevitably a couple of Twitter chumps say “derp he’s not a 5 star”

It’s like the people that go to pursue a PhD and accrue a billion hours of research and experience only to have someone on Facebook tell them they’re wrong

Tom Lemming BY HIMSELF is a better and more reliable evaluator than the entire "on3 Network".

I don’t want to make a ton of blanket statements but I remember over the years Lemming getting clowned a lot and I usually keep mental notes of it, and down the road dude is usually spot on
He always had a hard on for anyone that committed to or was being recruited by ND. He has also always overrated Midwest players and him loving a Chicago player is the least surprising thing ever. That all said, the tape and the stats don’t lie, Lightfoot is a big pickup.

Which always struck a nerve with us haha

It’s why I remember some things because I was ****ed he was correct

I think Lemming got too far out there with trying to be a personality, and he became annoying. Dude tried to cash in on being a pioneer and it wasn't great.

But as a straight-up evaluator, when he puts in the work, he is consistent. He's not favoring one fan-base by giving all their guys 4 and 5 stars.

His lists wildly off because of his bias. I stopped listening to him shortly after I started really following this stuff in the early 2000s because he was a caricature. He has been around forever though and even a sub par person will become decent at something if they practice their craft for as many years as he has.

That’s a good point

He was definitely one of the first guys to really make it a legit position and marketing himself

Was he wrong? We got CLOWNS is all facets of SOCIAL MEDIA making money. Or becoming brands. This guys created the start system. That’s most of us on here SWEAR by and most fan bases as well. Not saying he’s a genius or anything, but I wont fault him for trying to capitalize in a capitalist society.

BTW he is a pioneer. He created the START SYSTEM.

I can see why he rates him so high. He has the size and frame to fill out, seems strong pound-for-pound, and has great speed for his position. On top of that he has the agility, balance, and body control of someone much shorter. And then when you add the intangibles of competitiveness and football intelligence, you have a very good all-around prospect. Won't be surprised in the least to see him end up being the better player than the other guy from the Chi, Scott.

Jesus, we now are white knighting for Tom Lemming because he values yesterday's verbal a bit more than the other sites?

When he was big, back when we were good to recent all star games he had a hand in picking players for, this guy was getting murked on every Canes website out there. How he wasn't objective at all, just a ND homer, hates us, etc.

I have always said, the rankings that matter on these forums to most posters are the ones that rank a recruit higher. The rest, they're crap in their minds. ESPN loves us one year, they're the best. They don't the next, they suck. Sub names out, it's the same thing.

Wow
