To those still making excuses for D'Onofrio

We returned 9 starters, most of our two deep, and had a schedule that provided us with a bunch mediocre offensive teams. Yet there was absolutely no improvement and we still found ways to give up 500+ yards.

So, what makes you guys think our defense will be any different next year?

I like to think there's not one human being left still supporting him. Golden, yes, but if there is still a D'Onofrio supporter in this world, they either are related to him, or escaped the facility that was monitoring them and have subsequently missed a dose of meds.
 
I don't think anyone is taking up for him.

I think everyone is taking up for Golden and you idiots assume we like Coach D.

NO, we don't like coach D, but I think Golden will somehow fix it.

I think we have accepted it for what it is man no body is making excuses
we are going to wait and see what happens when the season is over and recruiting is done..

Please stop the new threads about Coach D and our defense lets just pray for a win in the bowl
game so that we can have a decent win on the schedule

Our D line is below average, you could bring back 12 starters, if they're not that good to begin with you will get the same poor results. It all starts on our D line, they're terrible. Unless we upgrade talent on the D line things won't change, looks like we are this year though.

Start watching the games, the D line can't tackle or get after the QB, he has all day to throw the ball. Blame the coaches for not getting talent on the line, then I agree 100%.

Bullshiz with the talent excuse. We may not have All Americans but we have grown men with talent and capabity. Our linemen are asked and told to things they are not good at doing or incapable of doing. It's scheme and coaching, zero question. Yes, we have talent issues, but no excuse for every team to have career days against us. Zero. None.

So.... either way it's on the coaches.. they either aren't coaching them up, or can't recruit the right personnel. How can you say it's lack of talent without blaming the coaching staff, Mitch.

You do realize a lot of that "non pressure" is by design?

On 1st and 2nd down notice out DLs stance and how they engage their man and help build a wall at the LOS.

While we don't have great DL talent... We have guys that other schools would certainly love to have (AQM, McCord, Chickillo (before we made him a slow fat ***), and Porter.

can you really see coach D being fired after a 9 win season and overall a decent amount of improvement.

MDO is irrelevant.

This is Golden's defense.

If we fired MDO and brought in a different guy to run the same system, it would probably look the same.

The issue is with the top man.
