Opelika always has good players. Their coaching has been mediocre. The new coach this year is a good coach. It wouldn't surprise me if Auburn and Opelika ended up playing each other in a rematch for the 7A championship.

Central Phenix City looks nothing like the Central teams of the past. That's what's surprising to me.

I think most of these schools suffer from public school problems. You get what you got and you have to play with it. My son played against Parker’s JV and we beat them so bad it was a running clock in the second half. I don’t have first hand knowledge but I think Parker recruited a lot of them dudes.

I think many of the "good" publics are recruiting at the high school level. Central PC this year is an abnormality because it's not like they are sh**ty (6-2 record) but they literally do not look like any of the Central teams that I've seen for the past 10+ years. They are SMALL. That caught me off guard because historically they steal kids from other areas.

My wife has said my son’s Hoover team these past few years have looked small. Hoover is finally having to work to win. Thompson is struggling this year too. I wonder if they are just young because they are usually better than this. That Hoover score is closer than what the game really was
 
My best friend's son plays for Hoover. Definitely not the "normal" Hoover program that I'm accustomed to. I knew something was up when we (Auburn High) whipped them to open the season last year.

Gaby said this about him..... not looking good. Probably looking to replace him with the slow Arnoux guy.

Interesting, if he is trending away I wonder if it's mutual or if Miami decided to move on. Seemed like a solid get.

It's beyond puzzling. It's the one position group we have struggled to recruit for close to a decade now. We are situated in the most fruitful location for DBs in the country and we struggle to get them.

Mario needs to vanquish this demon.

Hoover down cause their coach left to go to Gainesville in Georgia a couple years ago
