I'm not going to crown him yet, we still gotta get past Georgia Tech and North Carolina, to very different offense's than Florida before I put the D back in D'Onofrio.
He took a major step forward today, but it can all go down the drain if we lose to those 2 teams before we meet Florida State.
Cool off guys, he still has a long way to go......
Also, it should never take this long to install a defense. Muschamp had that Florida Defense clicking 2 years into his time at Florida. Same could be said for Venables at Clemson and watch the work Ted Roof does at Georgia Tech.
There's 3 reasons why offenses and defenses run into technical difficulties 1) the coach is a bad teacher, 2) the system just doesn't work or 3) the coaches have done a poor job recruiting the personnel to operate the system.
Either of 3 is reason enough to question the coach in charge of managing either offense or defense. Geniuses on this board can't explain for the life of them why Jedd Fisch had an easier time installing his offense. It didn't take him today to get the offense on a roll because either he was a great teacher, his system worked or he had the personnel with the game knowledge to implement it.
I'm willing to bet he was a better teacher and that's why he's making more money calling plays in the NFL.
D'Onofrio won't be judge on one game, he'll be judged on the entire season. If his defense doesn't show the same amount of effort as they showed today and we lose 3-4 games, he needs to see the door.
I was with you until you suggested Clemson plays D.
