Tim Williams Rumor

Miami kids' recruiting environment is nothing like most kids face. The local media is a bunch of UM hating ******** instead of people bending over backwards to protect the local school, their HS coaches seem to have a disproportionate amount of me-first scumbags, the HS environment itself is like a transfer free-for-all with no concept of loyalty... there is no comparison between that and what kids elsewhere go through.

could be hard to hold onto the kid after bama wins another nc and they get his final visit along with all the studs they're throwing into the nfl

I view him as a luxury. Here is my meltdown meter:
-Lose Williams-25%
-Lose Grace-60%
-Lose Bostic-75%
-Lose Coley-20%
-Lose Bryant-75%
-Lose Collins-90%
-Lose 6-95%
-Lose Kirkland-50%

The kids who aren't from this city dnt have to deal with the bull**** politics that HS coaches play down here. Half these recruits can't even think for themselves cause they get told so much bull**** on a daily basis from their coach, to their recruiters, to their uncles

They also hear all the constant negativity from purported UM fans and from the local media covering UM. Very negative environment down here that lacks the homer mentality of most successful college programs.

I don't believe it's any different here than other schools...

I disagree. While at times you may have individual players getting ripped by fans and some coaches being questioned, for the most part it's nothing like Miami. Heck, I'm here in Auburn and while Sportscenter likes to show the people that left after halftime this year during AU games, the truth is that stadium was **** near full at the beginning of most games. AU has had NUMEROUS off the field incidents over the last couple of years ranging from battery to armed robbery to players being murdered, and rarely if ever did you see articles as negative as what we've seen from the "hometown" guys concerning UM's sanctions. As franchise said, I won't even talk about Tuscaloosa.

Also, I think part of it has to do with the school and how it gets handled. There's no doubt in my mind that these other schools don't put up with that bs and handle it behind the scenes. Idiot reporter wants to do something stupid in Tuscaloosa? There's no doubt that a high level booster relays a message from Saban to the guy's boss that he's doing more harm than good and that his actions could directly affect the program's results. That's the end of it right there.

Bostick, Bryant, 6. Gimme gimme. Burns and the other safety just hold on. those 5 guys and our defense will be light years better in 2 years.

Excellent post. Dudes are confusing some college players getting ripped by rabid fans in other areas of the country with the downright contempt the local media and some of the disconnected vultures and money grabbers have for UM.

Local media here goes out of its way to tear UM down. You'd never see that **** in Tuscaloosa or some other town that is rabidly loyal to its local program. ****, the vast majority of dopey UM fans still consider Uncle Puke to be a big UM fan despite all of his subversive almost daily public assaults on UM.

Money post.

Kids in south Florida have become ungrateful

Not all of them can handle the pressure of staying home and playing for the hometown school. Where every week they are going to hear **** from every single person they know about they played.

I suspect it is. I haven't lived in Miami in decades, and just follow the different boards, and get the media reports. People in So. Fla. are hypercritical about everything. I think they can be much worse on the coaches and players. Not to say it doesn't happen other places--old rumors said that the Bowden family dog was killed back when Bobby coached WVU--but these days it can be pretty harsh in south Florida, from what I can see from afar.

I do suspect there is a lot of crap thrown around in south Florida by HS coaches, hangers-on, street agents, and all kinds of sundry people down there.

Yeah, didn't UF have a ton of arrests for several years running, and the kids got through the legal system without too much trouble? I can't remember all the details. Something like Finnie, he'd get probation or they'd withhold adjudication of guilt as a 1st offense and he'd be back by the spring. Maybe. But not in Dade.

This isn't his 1st offense, he has had problems w/ the law before because of other theft incidents. It's not like it was one and done for him here, kid has had plenty chances. Sad to see him go regardless

You guys have to understand that committing a crime on campus is grounds for being expelled. That's why this is going down this way.

What other school has famous "fans" bashing them publicly on a daily basis like that douchenozzle 3rd Cousin Luke?

Hello fellow Canes,

First off, I wanted to say how happy I am to discover such a great site and to see so many familiar names. Great work and continued good luck to Pete, Tito and the rest.

Wanted to hear your guys' thoughts on our chances with Tim Williams now that Mingo and Montgomery are officially gone from LSU.

Again, great to be here.
