Talked to a very trustworthy source tonight who knows Tim Williams on a personal level.
I have seen some posters here who hinted at the possibility that he committed earlier this week along with Muhammad, and I had been told the same thing, but that doesn't seem to be the case after I spoke with this individual.
This person spoke to Williams multiple times this week and Tim told him that he has not committed anywhere. Williams says that Miami has a lead, but that he won't be making any decisions until he visits. It is possible he commits on the visit on January 18th, but if he doesn't then FSU and Bama are very much in play. The Bama offer is legitimate and they will get his last visit.
Maybe Williams wants his moment and doesn't want to spill the beans, but this conversation went on with somebody who he has known for a few years before he even became a big-time recruit. Either way, Miami is in good shape but needs to lock him up on the visit.
