Thurston Armbrister

Gaines REALLY would benefit from a 'shirt. He needs a solid year of strength and film study to be up to par. I do think he can be a player eventually but he needs time to develop, which I think this staff can do.

Gaines was injured most of the spring and is just now getting back to practicing, I think that's why he's not higher on the DC. He'll most likely move up and be a starter vs BC.

A guy like Thurston Armbrister is nice to have. Him playing weak side LB with his speed and cover skills is very unique. He gives our DC an assortment of options to mix in blitz packages, zone and man coverages because of his size and speed.

shot out to the bahamian kid armbrister.....hope we wheel in his cousin to as a recruit this year...the big dlineman Jaynard Bostwick.

Armbrister looked good on specials last year and his size stood out...didnt expet to see him in rotation till his jr year so he is ahead of the curve imo.

He's been working with the first team for 2 weeks... He is legit, this isn't just a product of injuries

Looks good. Definitely has the frame to support good weight.

If he's legitimately over 220 lbs, he could surprisingly wreck ****.

Agree with both of these posts. I don't remember the story but there was a legitimate reason for Armbrister flying under the radar in HS. As some of the responses in this thread show, a lot of people ignore late signees as bodies or JAGs. Armbrister's film showed long arms and legitimate D1 physical tools. He was a work-in-progress but this staff can develop talent quickly. I'm not surprised at all by his "arrival" this summer. Kelvin Cain was and is a major surprise to me, but Armbrister was a legit prospect imo.
