Thoughts on the Clark PF

Yes he did block him out of bounds, but he never knocked the guy to the ground. Personally i don’t get that one. Wiped a great TD off the board.
I think the rule is 4 feet on the white it’s a penalty, meaning if the two feet of the defender and blocker are on the white paint on the sideline (coaches) area, you can’t block them. Similar to the penalties you see called on punt coverage for blocking a defender out of bounds.

I loved the effort by Jakai but it wiped away a TD that he was 20 yards away by the time he kept blocking the dude. A 1 score game and that penalty would’ve been a killer so better to happen up 20.

I feel it was the correct call. I know if the situation was reversed I would've been asking for a flag. Saying he didn't know where he was doesn't excuse any play, in particular when you drive on by some guy with a fluorescent yellow vest on. You don't see those guys on the field.
I don't think it matters if you knock the guy to the ground. He clearly kept blocking him when he was out of bounds. It's an easy call. Love the effort but it was unnecessary and wiped a TD off the board.

Don't get me wrong I love the attitude and it's been a long time since I've seen a play like that from our OL. Just be smarter next time.

Not sure when football became so soft; I recall vividly when I played HS ball, u would see OLmen drive DLmen all the way out of bounds if not over the table full of hydration fluids, & it was considered a good play. I myself was driven & mauled out of bounds on a RB screen play my Junior year & popped up, slapped my guy on his helmet saying good chit! Came back next drive & blind side popped him on an int return & said good chit,

It’s all part of the game. I know we’re making the game safer, & I appreciate such efforts, but It’s not like Jakai mauled him out of bounds & then hip tossed him or something. Looked like some egos were involved where both were establishing themselves w/ Clark showing “u ain’t winning this battle today, my guy.”

Didn’t like the call, at all; but, rules r rules “I guess.” ****, I saw my punter wipe down the field for his kicker this past Sunday & was called for unsportsmanlike conduct. Refs can clean the field for a kick in the snow, but apparently players can’t wipe a dry spot to kick. Whatever.

I hope we show up this week because It was mind boggling the fact we had to make halftime adjustments against Southern Miss. Yes, TVD seemed off on some throws but the guy also didn’t have a pocket to throw in against a no name school.

Clark had his worst game in a Canes uniform. He really struggled to move with that ankle. The OL had tons of communication issues. He whiffed several times against G5 DT’s.

He was fine on the block. It was the late shove after he was five yards out of bounds and then disengaged.

It was a penalty and it was dumb.

Great effort. But dumb.

Stop being obtuse. It wasn't a vicious block but he pushed dude past the white chalk on the sideline onto the 2nd green patch and kept going. Different game and that costs us. These are the things the players have to use their brain on. It was a foul, if you mess with a runner out there it's a guaranteed flag. Same energy. Love the effort, let's use our brains. We trying to become and tough and smart team at the same time

He was way out of bounds. Cool that he could overpower somebody to that extent but it was 30 yards behind the play and 5 yards out of bounds and it took a TD off the board so cool as it was, a costly mistake low IQ play.
