Thoughts On Our Win Against 1-7 (1-6)

Cooper has been terrible this year. Francis worst game of the year. Carpenter and McCoy I thought were fine. Rivers continues to shake off the rust. OL has to be better going forward.
Carpenter literally had guys running buy him and he did the ncaa stay in blocking stance while blocking nobody while qb is getting peeled off ground.. You would think he is trolling with that ****.. wtf

just comes down to execution, not game plan

we settled for three field goals where this season those have been TD's - we convert those then the game is more out of hand

the gameplan was fine, evidenced by the yards rushing, total yards, and third down/4th down success
Heard cam ward was slamming ipads but cis says its all good.. lol..

On one of those he was somehow the only one responsible for two rushers. Looked like a communication breakdown.
Yes, but I believe they rushed 7 and we had 6 to block. But the answer isn't to just stick your arms out and literally touch neither of them lol. Usually you are supposed to take the inside guy. Look it'd be one thing if he initially went to the inside guy then at last second tried to get to outside guy cause he knew that it was a free rusher and maybe his guard could help inside... but that didn't happen. Literally 2 guys rushed and he just backpedaled and stuck both arms out to his side and literally touched neither lol.

Also I'm sorry, it was already clear as **** from the first few games that Martinez is our best RB, but after these past 2 games, its genuinely insane that anyone could think Fletcher is better or even close to on the same level as Martinez. How on earth he is starting and getting even 60% as many touches is crazy. To make it even more insane Fletcher has ******* fumbled twice in the last two weeks and proceeded to not get taken out of the game after either of them. Literally on like all Fletchers carries that he gained more than like 3 yards, imo it was because our Oline opened the biggest holes they have all season lol. I'm literally not even joking. This sounds like I'm really hating on him, but this dude is not some stud workhorse RB. He's fine, and can pickup what is given to him, and can run hard and be good in short yardage or the redzone, but that is the extent to how he should be used... at least while Martinez is on this team. Like I'm fine with Fletcher having some drives, but it should NOT be the same amount as Martinez. Also while Fletcher is solid in pass protection, he doesn't offer nearly as much as Martinez in the receiving game. Martinez has been very good for us as a safety valve for Ward all year, picking up critical first downs and extra yardage by making at least 1 guy miss.

Now Next year maybe its a different story regarding Fletcher when Martinez is no longer here, but even then Lyle imo is going to far surpass him too.

The rest of the season this is how I'd be managing the RB room:
- At least 2/3rds of all drives will be mainly Martinez. No more of this 50/50 bs. On those drives He only comes out for a breather - Allen or Fletcher primary subs for a few plays. If in Redzone, Fletcher is main sub.
- Remaining 1/3rd of the Drives Is Fletcher to start but with Allen/Lyle/Johnson rotating during the drive based on formation/situation - and Fletcher in for all short yardage and Redzone during those drives.
- Martinez is the RB for ALL 2 min drive situations, period.

What even kind of alignment is this? No one over the c gap on the left tackle on 4th and short

This is one of the weirdest plays you'll see. A 4th and 1 qb sneak attempt that looks like the center snapped it early, the snap was almost fumbled, Mesidor gets in the backfield before half the offense is even out of their stance, It causes so much chaos while their RB and 2 of their Olineman just grabs their QB from all sides essentially hiding him and dragging him away while all our guys are assuming the play was blown up and tackled...

We haven't run a counter since Fletcher's TD against UF. For whatever reason we just refuse to do so. It's all inside zone.

I don't think it would be bad if Miami and Dawson go their separate ways this year. In all likelihood Dawson will get an HC gig at the G5 level, and Mario needs to go out and get an up and coming offensive mind with some hunger and creativity.

Dawson is a good OC. Sometimes he can be very good. But he's not elite, and he never will be. To his credit though, there's very few elite playcallers in the CFB game right now.
C not s as athletic enough?

Remember 2015 at Cincy?
Similar play…Jenkins had the guy then somehow scored a td.

The offensive performance was a true testament to how well rounded this roster has been constructed. If a team can take away the passing game, no worries Martinez will just gash them for 150 and 2 TD's.

I can forgive this one a little bit, kinda looked like the D thought it was a false start and were waiting for the whistle.

yup was going to say the same. The OL was outnumbered, but if the RT picks one and blocks him, then Ward could escape the other. Probably ends up being a big gain with his legs, especially if the RT blocks his guy to the outside.

We have one of the best offenses in the country. We continue to win. Close or not it’s a win. I totally believe that the coaching staff needs to continue making adjustments and figure things out. But my goal is for us was to win ACCCG, which is well in our grasp. It’s unrealistic to think we will have the 2001 canes defense and the 2019 LSU offense consistently showing up every week. I see something in this team that was lacking for years and that’s fight till the end. If they continue on that path I’m ok with the outcome. Maybe I’m overly optimistic, I can see this team losing to every team in the top 5 but can also see us beating them. Clean up a few things, take it week by week and get to the ACCCG. Complete that and we have a chance. I’m enjoying the ride! 8-0 LFG.

Inexcusable List:

- Get Cam better protection if the line is struggling.

- Defense continues to be completely beaten based off of how they line up. FSU lines up heavy right and we're heavy the other way. FSU runs right thru the empty space.

- FSU dropped or missed a bunch of easy throws.

- Third to last play is the rollout throw to the right corner of the endzone. Uncovered but dropped. FSU goes back to it 2 plays later. 2 defenders to cover the 3 WRs.

- The D line cannot get home. They either get stopped or whizz right past the QB. Even when they luck into a sack, they can't bring down the QBs.

- And when they ran past the QB, he just jogs straight for 15 yards bc there's no spy. Ever.

I know Guidry isn't working with a single NFL player, but you have to try something new man.

I watched this Bozo switch the D to a 3-3-5 last year to beat Clemson. Where's the adjustments now? Where's the improvement from Jason Taylor? I'm watching every other team this year force turnovers and get big sacks. Except us.

I expect more from the coaches and they should expect more from the players.

That's been FSU all year. They dropped easy balls vs Clemson and Duke. More then 1. A lot of us thought it would come to an end today....it didn't. Those WRs are g0d awful

I can forgive this one a little bit, kinda looked like the D thought it was a false start and were waiting for the whistle.
I mean, if the QB goes straight up the middle, it's a stuff. But the confusion pushes him to the side and suddenly, he broke through.

Cooper has been terrible this year. Francis worst game of the year. Carpenter and McCoy I thought were fine. Rivers continues to shake off the rust. OL has to be better going forward.

I noticed a lot of zone blocking breakdowns. FSU DC saw something on film because we weren’t picking up guys. Carpenter let a guy go and the blocking RB whiffed on him because he was covering two gaps. McCoy tried to hand off a guy to Rivers who was too late in picking him up. The whole blocking team (OL, TEs and RBs) struggled with cohesion at different points. Not all on Cam at all. Noles were getting pressure quickly sometimes.

I saw that but thought it was a zone blocking assignment. Get snap off, first defender is OG’s/RB’s, look for the blitz. I say that because of the way he was stepping was often away from the gap penetrator. Possible?

Whatever the scheme, it wasn’t working.
