Those ACC Bloggers Hate Miami

Every time I look on that blog, they are ALWAYS talking down on Miami. The latest coming from Andrea Adelson saying that she's "shocked" Miami is favored to win the Coastal division. They even voted to pick Miami as 4th and Duke as 1st in the Coastal. Yes, Miami does have question marks at QB and on defense, but be f***ing for real. They know good and **** well that Miami is favored due to the obvious talent that Miami has that the rest of the Coastal clearly does not have. They want to deepthroat that Blue Devil kool-aid so bad because of what transpired last season, but that was LAST SEASON. Duke has one Cinderella season and they want to think they are here to stay. Duke upset Miami last year, but they DO NOT recruit on the same level that Miami does BY FAR and the talent gap is WIDE. You can't logically think that they are a program clearly ahead of Miami right now. If that's the logic they choose to use, then if Florida had to play Georgia Southern this year, Florida would lose again, because oh, they lost to Georgia Southern last year. FOH Andrea.

Miami does recruit better if you're looking at recruiting rankings.

However, if you look at the results last year, you could say Duke does more with inferior talent than Miami does with superior talent.

Pretty sure VaTech and Louisville had lower ranked recruiting classes than Miami as well. What's your excuse for those losses?

My restraining order expires labor day weekend.

Heather can expect to get a piece of my mind on her blog this fall.

Miami had a team last season that had a complex situation. Firstly, Miami had a dichotomic defense last season. I know this has been stated time and time again, but when you have guys in your front seven like Shayon Green (bad knees), Tyrone Cornileus, and Jimmy Gaines, then in the secondary you have guys like AJ Highsmith and Kacy Rogers, you have guys on defense who are far from being impact guys. ****, AJ Highsmith just retired from football so that should tell you how unskilled he was at his position.

As for the offense, Stephen Morris was a deep ball or nothing QB. As a starter the last few seasons, he never showed he can make the intermediate throws, you know, the throws that keep the chains moving. Our 3rd down conversion rate was a porous 35% last year. That means our defense was on the field way too long getting burned out. When Duke Johnson went down, that obviously made things worse.

If you go back to the game against FSU, we lost and we lost Duke Johnson. That carried over to the VaTech game as we had no run game and completely sucked on third down, along with those turnovers on special teams. Losses tend to carry over like that. Then you go to the Duke game, I think Miami was obviously uninspired. Yeah I know, excuses, excuses. Say what you want, but Miami lost it's steam after that FSU game.

Duke is still Duke. Cinderella year and things just fell into place for them last season.

They know we are the most talented team in the coastal. So what are they really saying? Come on, you can get there...

Of course you would think they are subliminally saying we don't have the coach/staff, but even if Miami's coach was Nick Saban, they would still find a way to say Duke will win the Coastal, or even VaTech for that matter.

Do you really believe this?

we have had below average to terrible coaching for over 10 years with the current staff being the worst of all.

the talent level is pretty good at a lot of spots but overall I dont think it is even as good as the 2010 team. combine that with huge ?? at QB and a KNOWN awful defense and you have a recipe for ****tiness

Were you alive when Coker was here, or what? That man set in motion the downward spiral we've endured for the past ten years.

Golden may end up being the worst of the three when it's all said and done, but after going 9-4, that's a tough argument to make.

Where is the dichotomy in last year's defense?

They are a bunch of ******* jacks, including a bunch of fake *** people on this board...:stormwarning:

What I'm saying is, they would still Miami in the "prove it" category even if we had Saban. They will still say "Miami doesn't have the QB, have questions on defense and they haven't won the ACC since they been in the conference", while not looking at the fact that we have NICK SABAN, the best coach there is in college football.

IMO, as far as this 2014 defensive depth chart, there is none. Golden/D'Nofrio have no excuses.

Meaning, Miami had talent and athleticism everywhere else outside of those guys I mentioned on defense. IMO, as far as this 2014 defensive depth chart, there is none. Golden/D'Nofrio have no excuses.

Seriously, you're throwing out unsupported theories with zero credibility.

As an example, look back when we were an established great team, say 2000-2002. Did the prognosticators pick anyone else to win our conference (then the Big East)? Of course not. Didn't the journalists supposedly "hate" us then? If so, then why did they pick us to win? They did, because they looked at the facts. We had a ton of talent, and dominated CFB.

I think you're reading into it too deep. My argument is not the entire media talking down on Miami, its those bloggers that cover the ACC for ESPN such as Andrea Adelson and Heather Dinich.

Fair enough. But do you really believe that Adelson and Dinich hate UM?

Their predictions are perfectly reasonable. We have been a mediocre team for several years now. Further, we have a major question mark at QB, the most important position on the field. Worse still, you need a stout defense to be successful with an inexperienced QB. Thus far, all we've seen under Golden/Donofrio are historically inept defenses. While you may believe this is the year our defense turns the corner, it is perfectly reasonable for the prognosticators to disagree. It doesn't mean they hate UM.

Randy Shannon is by and large considered one of the worst if not worst coaches and he went 9-4 in his third year too (with a more difficult schedule). I remember hearing the same arguments you are making back then. Similar arguments with Coker. "But but but his record is 60-15!"

We've only been mediocre because we had two of the worst HCs of all time back to back in Coker and Shannon followed by the clowd. Now that the clowd is gone it's a new day!

Wow! Lotta words in this thread. Its completely feasible that Miami finishes 4th. It's also possible that they finish first. It's up to AG.

We all know in 2012 that defense clearly wasn't ready as there were too many freshmen getting major playing time along with no depth. Last years defense wasn't pretty, we had personnel issues at a few positions as I previously mentioned, but still statistically better than 2012's defense. I think this years defense can be about as good as they were in 2011 or even better.

I'm not arguing the merits of whether the defense will turn the corner or not. That is not what your original post concerned. It's great that you think the defense is going to be great this year. Just because the ACC bloggers don't agree with you does not mean they hate UM.
