The concern is not USC. The concern is FSU. And the thought is that MT might be using the trip to USC to avoid having to go to UM this weekend.

I think he doesn't want to deal with all the current commits on his *** and maybe he figures he can judge the []_[] based on Denver's assessment. If Kirk rides and is like trip was fire son you shoulda came, I'm signing. Thomas will be like yea boi thas what I thought. Glad I took the free trip and got to relax this weekend and didn't hafta hear the same we need you mess all weekend from everybody on the team and on campus. Good lookin son.

Post of the day because maybe denver wasn't on him hard to visit and he can visit anytime he wants so its in his hands and maybe he wants to be alone so he can get the right mindset on what he sees

We might get UGA's official on 2/1 if AG closes Denver this weekend. I really think Thomas doesn't need that though. He knows what is going on down here and doesn't need to take an official and spend a weekend being slurped. If we can sell Kirk I think we got him locked up.
 
At the end of the day I still think we land this kid but could someone please answer me a question, if he's not taking a weekend OV to us because he lives so close, than why does JUST ABOUT EVERY OTHER LOCAL RECRUIT take one to us?

They need the love, they want to be reassured Miami will treat them right. Thomas is such a stud that he is not concerned who is on the depth chart anywhere. He knows he is going to show up and be a threat to play. He is that good.

A guy like Kirkland has some waiting to do, even Collins is like hmm maybe I don't get on the field much. Sandland isn't a lock to start. Olsen, Burns, and Carter aren't likely to play a whole lot if at all. I just think this kid is a monster and doesn't have the same worries as your typical recruit.

Different strokes then. If I was a highly touted recruit, and knew I was going to UM, I would be a leader and be at UM on their biggest recruiting weekend of the year trying to help land the uncommitted recruits.

Its truly amazing to me we have kids from Ohio, NJ, and LA trying to recruit South Florida kids to UM

That's not his freaking job man. I really wish you would stop posting this. It's not in his job description to be an ambassador for the University of Miami football program. Not everybody is going to be Duke and it doesn't make them any less of a Cane. He has NO obligation to recruit guys to come to Miami. There are coaches who are being paid very handsomely to convince kids that Miami is a great place to grow themselves as football players and young men.

Pete - can you please tell Dobard, Gall, Olsen, and whoever else to please stop recruiting for UM? Evidently its the coaches jobs. Also, please advice Tracey, Deon, and Duke to do the same. Much appreciated sir

Agree..
There is a difference between "have to recruit for the team" and "want to recruit". Nobody says they have to. That's the job of the coaches. But some recruits are more invested in the program than others. They try to take ownership of the program very early on because they feel strongly about it.
Now, nobody is questioning the athletic ability, our need for them or the impact AC and MT would have on our team if they sign up. But it is obvious they don't feel strongly about the program to the extent they would try to help out in recruiting even though they still taking visits. Case in point: Jermaine Grace

Its nice to have both. Jerzey does have a point though. He doesnt have to. Id just like somebody as talented as Thomas to be a leader of the class as well
