This week and Coley has absolutely helped UM with 6 ... but don't think this is a done deal yet

FSU fans are going to be back to thinking they get Thomas after this weekend. I'm not worried. Makes it more fun to see them meltdown again

Yep - I like our chances, but we are talking about recruiting. If I learned anything over the past 15 or so years following it closely, "it ain't over 'til it's over".

I'm also glad they still have there hopes up. Nsd will be fun. We have to have a thread or two with meltdown quotes.

How? How is that "sane and rational?"

No, the "sane and rational" view has ALWAYS been to expect this kid to sign with UM. His mom wants him here. The only school he could go to where his mother would get to see him play is UM, and he has said that he wants that. He's been to campus tons of times. He took an official visit here. He has routinely said that Miami is recruiting him the hardest of any school. Micheal Barrow has been on him forever. And Micheal Barrow would actually be his position coach in college, unlike Coley, who wouldn't even coach on the same side of the ball as Thomas. He goes to Booker T. Washington, a school that FSU has never signed a player from. A school whose coach used to be on staff on UM. Whose most notable player in the years before Matthew Thomas played at UM. And an assistant coach at that school ran track at UM. And, Micheal Barrow is personal friends with the head coach of that school. And now, the only reason he had interest in FSU is at UM. So no, the "sane and rational" view has always been that this kid ends up at UM, just like the "sane and rational" view was that Kenny Phillips would end up at UM even though Trooper Taylor did a great job recruiting him, just like James Coley did with Matthew Thomas. It's like you can't handle any "sane and rational" view that has things going extremely well for UM. Get out of here with that bull****. This stuff with Thomas is OVER.

The sane and rational thing is to EXPECT, that a fickle 18 year old kid, is going to sign with us, just because? It is one thing if the kid said this was his dream school, committed early and has been recruiting for us since. A Duke Johnson situation. Instead, this kid, who is NOT some clown or troll, has been thoughfully weighing his options, and enthusiastically visiting other schools, while only schduling a mid week visit, late in the game, to the "hometown" school, which you insist he's a LOCK to. And despite coming from a pipeline feeder school, and his family all wanting him here, the kid has yet to give any clear indication that he's going to come here in the end. And lets not ignore the fact that the two time defending National Champs are hot and heavy after him too.

But F8ck it, lets ignore all the danger signs, and just ASSUME he's ours, just becuase, I mean he's a Miami kid, and they never flake out and go elsewhere right?

COme on MANE. All this guy said was, the last week, and getting Coley has certainly helped us with the kid, but that may not be a done deal yet. And you SERIOUSLY dont think that's a rational or sane view? LOL. After all these years, its INEXCUSABLE for YOU of all people, to be sitting there acting like this kid is a lock, when he has NOT committed, is STILL taking other visits, and has NOT given any indication that he's just messing with people, etc... but rather all signs show that the kid really is undecided, and although we certainly have a good shot, it is by NO means a "lock".

****, didnt Mr. Uber Insider Random Walk give us about a 50-60% chance? Is that a Lock? Bakas seems to think its a UM vs Bama "battle", and for whatever you can say about them, they arent total morons who have never followed recruiting. So to act like anyone who doesnt dismiss this kid as a "LOCK" is being irrational, is just being ridiculous dude. You of all people should know this, you have followed this stuff long enough.

I can agree with all of that and hope it does turn into a Tracy situation where in the end staying close to home was the best decision..... but the interest in FSU is still definitely there and a final visit to FSU can not just be overlooked as whatever....with that said I can certainly see Golden and this staff closing the deal like we all know Al does.

C4L, you need to get laid or something man. You are so **** negative

How the F*ck am I being negative? I simply said that this post was rational. We have certainly put ourselves in a good position with the kid, but its not a done deal yet. If it was, why would he be going to FSU? Why hasnt he committed, why isnt he recruiting for us? I dont think its irrational to say that until the kid signs, or give a clear indication that he has shut down his recruiting, that its not a "done deal" yet. I mean you would think you cats had never seen a local kid ***** us and go somewhere else.

PP got paid
Teddy B was in the middle of a coaching change

Patchan is the ONLY guy who fits the description and his mamma cried when he chose Ufag.

Not any of those players' recruitments are similar to 6's at all. You can continue to ignore all the things I laid out for you above that play into 6's recruitment and make it pretty obvious to see why he would end up at UM, as I've said from the day he became a hot name on the boards and even when he was rumored to have given a verbal to FSU during the summer, but that's why what you think is "sane and rational" isn't really "sane and rational."

The player with the recruitment most similar to Thomas' is Kenny Phillips, and look where he ended up.

Yeah dude, just because. After all the reasons I laid out for you above, that have held true in South Florida recruiting for years, it's just because. Glad that's what you could take away from that. You're a **** porster.

OH you mean like Antone Smith was? Like PP was? Like Matt Patchan (A F*CKING LEGACY) was? Or how about Teddy B?

Smith is Pahokee...never did well there
PP got paid
Teddy B was in the middle of a coaching change

Patchan is the ONLY guy who fits the description and his mamma cried when he chose Ufag.

Most guys stay in Dade county. It's just historical fact. The outlier is not the "rational" point of view.

Matt Patchan was a redneck from Tampa. He didn't fill the bill at all. Parker didn't get paid; he genuinely liked FSU. Atlantic isn't in overtown. It isn't a UM feeder school. There really aren't that many UM fans up that way.

Smith's mother cried when he signed with FSU too. Dwayne Bowe was another local phenom everyone thought we would land too, til it came out LSU was buying him.

The point was, those were all some of the hottest and biggest national recruits from our backyard, and we all assumed they were "LOCKS" until they F*CKED us. Thomas isnt just some random local kid, he's one of the top players in the whole country, in some views the best LB in the nation. Every major program is hot and heavy after the kid, so we dont KNOW what kind of $$$$$**** we may be facing in his recruitment. We are recruiting against the SEC, not just the SEC, but f*cking BAMA, in addition to FSU here. I dont think its crazy at all to be SOMEWHAT concerned until the kid gives a clear signal that he is coming here.
