Bcuz it's not real is my whole point! They get told they are committed but are gonna keep it quite. They hold onto the spot and then stop recruiting other players because of it. They go to the media and say "we have silent commits". Fans take that and get confident and then the sky is falling when the supposed silent goes elsewhere. But, the biggest thing is these coaches get played. They take what the kids are selling, stop recruiting other players, and then get left out to dry. Let's take Ingraham for example. DT, position of need, now we are trying to get into the game late with DT targets who we didn't recruit because we thought we were getting Ingraham. So, unless a player is ready to make the whole world know that they are committed, tell that person we are going to continue to recruit players. And, if they are committed and still taking visits, then we will continue to look around. You look, we look. Clemson takes offers away if players visit, will not accept their commitments. Alabama, Oklahoma. All the same. When we were recruiting Dean, once he visited, his offer was pulled. It's not just talk, its fact. I'll use Clemson as an example. Look at Ladson, has he taken any visits since he committed to Clemson? No. Because he wants to go to Clemson, he doesn't want to mess it up. Clemson told him "Do not commit unless you are truly committed." It works out kinda well for them. They have had 2 decommittments since 2012. It's not just winning either. 10-4, 11-2, 11-2, 10-3 from 2011-2014. Had consistent top 15 classes each year after those seasons with multiple NFL prospects in each of those classes, with highest being the 4th ranked class after going 10-3 in Watson's first year. We just went 10-4 in Richts 2nd year coaching here. They tell every recruit the same thing. Even the high profile 4/5 star recruits that can go anywhere in the country. Commit and shut it down. There's no drama every year for Clemson for this reason. Here? We get played every year by recruits, even with Richt. Last year, we all knew who the ride or dies were bcuz they didnt waver, they all were committed, didnt even take visits most of them and we all loved them for it. Now how about since we knew Jobe was looking, to be recruiting Samuel all year long? Maybe we find another DT since Chatman had played games all year long? Maybe the year before we recruit a different RB in case McFarland doesn't commit? No. We get played and you all question the staff on what they are doing. But I guess saying "Lets not get played" is blasphemous.
