The Work 12-18

A close of Samuel, Campbell, Goldwire, Chatfield and one more OL would be really special topping to this class.

There’s that “staff isn’t worried” bit of false bravado on Reed. If they weren’t worried then they wouldn’t be trying to lock him in early. And if he doesn’t sign early because he wants to visit Oklahoma then he’s open to going there.

Who josh jobe again?

Things like this kind of bug me more than the decommit by JJ.

Yes, those are three ELITE prospects and I want to land them all as I'm greedy like that. Even if that were to happen, I would still want JJ. Our class would be better for it, his position as well, which isn't the same as those three. Silly train of thought those kinds of posts are.

Jobe wanted to be a diva about his recruitment and didn’t decommitnent, our class will be fine without him, he has great talent don’t get me wrong but we will be just fine with out him[emoji1479][emoji1479][emoji1479][emoji1479][emoji1479]

Great work. This. Class will be epic. Aside from talent, real good bunch of young men that love football and respect what it takes to be great.

When you look at this recruiting class so far, the coaching staff is really assembling top flight talent. But just as important as the talent, it looks like they are assembling top flight competitors who are going to restore UM football to the pinnacle of college football. There is no doubt in my mind that we will be competing for championships soon.

Think about this: We won 10 games in Richt's 2nd year relying on quality minutes from the likes of Rozier, Gauthier, Mahoney, Langham, Knowles, Charles Perry and Mike Smith. These are guys who would never receive a UM offer under Richt. But Richt still got a 10-win season with talent a few rung below his standards.

Wait until our roster is full of the talent like the 2017 and 2018 classes. Next year, you will start to see the weekly domination of opponents that Richt is still searching for. We were scrappy and resilient and eeked out some wins this past season. Next year, we will paste teams. And by 2019 with a 3-deep roster full of 2nd and 3rd stringers who could start on 90% of the CFB teams, we will be playing for the Natty.

Ohio State or Michigan wins the 2019 Natty.

Goss looks to be from Lowndes County. That's South Georgia. I think there would have to be extenuating circumstances for a kid from South Georgia to pick UM over a SEC school like Auburn. Maybe Richt is that circumstance. LOL

I grew up about 30 minutes north of Valdosta High. Just a little fun fact I remember from my time there:

"Valdosta High School is home to the winningest high school football program in the United States, with a record 918 wins, 227 losses, and 34 ties, for a winning percentage of 79.44% as of November 20, 2015. From 1913-2016, the Wildcats have won six national championships in football, 24 state championships, and 42 regional championships."

It was once referred to as Winnersville USA.

Yep. I went to college (VSU) there. Still referred to as Winnersville. As a matter of fact, the annual rivalry game vs. Lowndes is still called, The Winnersville Classic

Why do you say things like this, then complain about the backlash.

Yeah I'm extremely familiar with Valdosta. Went to high school in Ga in the late 80's/early 90's. Valdosta was king. My cross town rival high school (LaGrange High) defeated Valdosta and ultimately defeated Colquitt Co. to win the state championship in 91. Valdosta was two time defending state champions that year. In that four year period that I was in high school, those guys won state like 3 times.

Would be an epic finish. We've done everything we'd had to do to open these kids eyes. We really need these 2/3 DBs to blow this thing wide open and cemet ourselves as the current "it" school.

if we're looking at taking another offensive lineman, then why a project? why not go hard after a better prospect?

What ever happened to that Collins kid from NC that visited us? Visit happened and didn't hear anything (or I missed it). Thanks!

Ivins said we cooled on him due to his length not being what coaches wanted when he visited.

Had several chicks cool on me for similar reasons

Not so much length but his size, dude is skinny af and Ivins said the coaches said he is a kid who we would live to play against.

My guess is they really like what they have on campus and what's coming in this class and are up for taking a chance on a guy like this with a lot of upside.
