**Miami would love to add T Jalen Goss as the fourth offensive lineman in the class — they see him having extremely high upside. They also believe that Auburn is their biggest competition and Goss visited there this past weekend, but he will visit Miami January 26th. A source close to the situation said the biggest hurdle in Goss’ recruitment is that he’s from a small town in Georgia and his family is not sure what Miami is really like. UM thinks the visit in January could go a long way to calm any potential concerns.
**Miami is actually still in contact with T William Barnes and it remains a slight possibility he visits in January.
**Canes OL coach Stacy Searels will work hard over the next two days to get Cleveland Reed to sign early on Wednesday — and there is still a chance Reed decides to do that. Miami is not concerned with Reed’s commitment level, however if he doesn’t sign this week, look for his final visit to be Oklahoma.
**Here are the jersey numbers that some of the freshmen plan to wear:
1 Lorenzo Lingard
2 Camron Davis
3 Gilbert Frierson
6 Mark Pope
8 D.J. Ivey
9 Brevin Jordan
11 Will Mallory
44 Realus George
**Lorenzo Lingard and Gurvan Hall will be roommates when they enroll in January.
**Gilbert Frierson and D.J. Ivey are rooming together as well.
**As I posted earlier, Mark Pope will sign on Wednesday at Southridge at 9AM. He might not be able to enroll early, but UM is not counting that out — the important thing is that he’s still locked in.
**No surprise here, but the three names of interest right now at DB are definitely Tyson Campbell, Patrick Surtain, jr., and Asante Samuel, jr.
Fresh off of his FSU visit, I’m still hearing that Samuel is very open to Miami and will likely visit in January. Look for more school and home visits with Samuel next month from the Canes staff.
**Campbell and Miami remain in a good place. His recruitment has been quiet all around, which is a good sign for UM as well. His official visit to Coral Gables with Surtain, Nesta Silvera, and Andrew Chatfield is on tap for January 26th.
Canes are still the favorite for Chatfield, too.
