Cristobol as Head Coach? Shut down the Program.

Cristobol as some sort of position coach (not coordinator) and Associate Head Coach under Chud? Not bad. Tell me more...

I prefer Hermnan or BBB over the Chud/Cristobal combo...but we could do much worse. Chud is a very good coordinator with limited head coaching experience. Cristobal is a very good recruiter with head coaching experience. Both are familiar with the Program and the South Florida culture. But, I need to hear more about the defensive side of the ball....

Keeping Coley?

I didn't think it was possible, but Mario just made himself an even less attractive candidate.
 
Cristobal is a terrible hire. Look at the staff he is bringing. Holy **** if true. Might as well have kept Golden.

It is unsure what role Migoya has in the coaching search, but a source tells me that Migoya had lunch with Mario Cristobal today at Christy’s in the Gables. **Do not count out Cristobal on being part of Rob Chudzinski’s staff if Chud is the guy. Mario’s brother, Luis, was Chud’s roommate at Miami and the families are close.

**I can also confirm the reports that Charlie Strong does have interest in this job. Sources close to his agent Jimmy Sexton say that Strong may not be all that happy in Texas. Again - he's meeting with guys that aren't busy running other programs right now. Still holding out hope that December brings better news.

So, the Cristobal apologists stated that Cristobal would bring in a legit staff and would sweep up recruiting. Based on what Pete's saying, he would retain an offensive coordinator in his 3rd year with the school who has one of the best QB's in the nation, yet his team is near dead last in 3rd down efficiency.

And Tucker as DC....jesus christ. I remember the Bears used to trot out some stout defenses, until Tucker came out and they were just bad. How do you go from NFL defensive coordinator to college DB coach? Because you're bad at your job.

I stand by the fact that Cristobal of all the coaches that are rumored to be in this gig would be a complete disaster of a hire.
 
I thought the Cristobal thing was a horrible idea, just on the surface.

Now that it appears he's attached to Coley...I'd rather go on probation again.

If that's the combo, I'm done with this program. Period.
 
Color me surprised that the school that had to be dragged kicking and screaming to get rid Gordlen, is now entertaining the possibility of hiring a guy that only they think would be good at the job.
