The Wildcat

Wildcat was started b/c the dolphins had a terrible center. It works if your interior O-Line is awful.

Didn't Coach Golden already list one of Gray's possible positions as Wildcat QB at his pre-camp press conference? Sounds likely it'll be used. I like it as an extra option during GL and short yardage.

As part of the chess match in a game (and.. provided we're effective running it) I love springing it on a defense in situations that makes the linebackers freak for a second and bam, we run a play for a gainer OR, the opposing coach burns a time out when he sees panic in his D. They you're in their heads too.

Announcer: Gray lined up behind center in wild cat formation. Duke Johnson and Joe Yearby flanking Gray in the backfield. Berrios lining up in the slot with Dorsett and Coley out wide. What is this? Petrino is running out on the field screaming for a time out.

Can't wait to hear this...

Can't wait to see all that speed and quickness out on the field at once...

It's a good thing to sell recruits on. When you have guys like dexter Williams coming in as athletes, and you're telling them you're gonna get them the ball in a bunch of different ways, it's a good chance to put your money where your mouth is. With the athletes we have, I got no beefs with getting big and running right at people, seeing if tray one can catch a window.

We should absolutely use it. You dont wanna just put a random guy back there but if you got the right person then there is no reason not to. This isnt the NFL where "gimmicks" can be exposed quickly. Not a doubt in my mind if you brought in the big uglys and just snapped it to chocolate that he could get 2 or 3 yards a pop at least.
