Completely agree. His has to understand the situation. You can't take strikes with runners in scoring position and any contact scores a run.

Thats why u need someone who has even the littlest bit of hitting ability in his spot so you don't have to play this small ball bs that seems to end up like this so often

It was fine to tack on another run. You want to get the runner to 3rd with less than two outs in the easiest way. Lala failed to do his job by take strike 2 without a swing.

He gets caught thinking leadoff rather than the situation at hand. I think that has been Jenkins's problem as well.
