I am still on the Coach L bandwagon. Dude is a proven winner with far less. He really doesnt have any players of his own and the mentality of this team just hasnt took yet.
We just cant keep jacking up 3's all night when a team is playing 3 or 4 guys on the outside. Team needs to up their basketball IQ and break down a defense.
I had some pretty high expectations this year and I am not completely giving up on those. However, these team needs to wake the **** up.
I hated Haith, was on the Coach L bandwagon, but it's up to the coach to stop the bad habits. If the team is jacking up 3s, it's up to Coach L to put a stop to it. If he can't figure out how, that's a big problem. If he can't get this team to give any effort, that's a big problem. It's not like we went to the NCAAs last year, and the team is sleepwalking through this year so far. We choked away the NCAAs last year, and then gave an embarrassing effort against Minnesota in the 2nd round of the NIT. The team should be self motivated to come out this year, but they clearly weren't, and it's Coach L's job to get them to try after the St. Leo game, and then Stetson, and then halftime of this game. It's a disturbing trend that this team has played flat 3 games in a row, losing 2, albeit, 1 real game, against a D-II team and 2 A-Sun teams.
I'm just in disbelief. It's now up to Coach L to show me something. Maybe he can win with no names, but now he has "ACC talent" and he has to prove he can win with these guys too. I know he doesn't have 5 McDonald's AAs out there, but these guys look like they have the attitude of a bunch of 5 stars who think they can walk out and the other team will bow down to them. Coach L has to fix that or do something.
Im with you but he really doesnt have anything to turn to. He's had what... two classes with about 3 players? I think the team will be okay but I agree, it should have never got to this point.
I am upset right now but this is a long season. Couple of upsets and we are right back into the thick of things.
I know it's a knee jerk reaction, but after this year we lose Kadji, Johnson, Scott and Mckinney-Jones (and Gamble, unless he gets a 9th year, ala Steve Frazier). We are going to be very bad next year, and if we're not good this year.....
And so far we have two players to replace them while striking out on our top targets for the past month.
God help us.
