The Seantrel Henderson thread...

OK...stay on topic. No need to repeatedly post that link to the wez. If Blue wants to E-fight, he'll click the link.

Worst case, he becomes JAG. However, we have zero depth to be kicking SMH off the team.

Well he's not kicked off the team right now, and that's doing us a lot of good.

Unreliable. I don't care how good he is, what his upside is, how short we are on personnel, Seantrel would do us a favor if he just stayed home.

His sporadic appearances are worse than not having him and hoping you do.

I will say this...there are way too many "experts" on here who don't give a **** about the kid...and all y'all care about is being the first to say you called it in regards to Seantrel's demise.

Its real easy to say you're right and all this DONE bull**** right now...but when those chickens you're counting now end up not hatching...I will be here to point out how wrong you were. And we will see who has the mealy-mouthed weak-*** excuses then...and it won't be me.

Yeppppp

Not rooting against anyone, just don't want to see the culture of toughness and hard work that the team has been building since Al Golden got there be ruined by one player.

How can you tell everyone else they need to practice hard when one guy doesn't practice at all and gets special treatment?

Why do we have fans of our team actively rooting against a player on our team? Jesus Christ our fanbase sucks ***.

Why are you (and others) so worried about it? Don't you think that if Seantrel were so counter-productive to what Golden is doing, GOLDEN would know? Nobody knows the situation better than Golden. If Seantrel should be off the team or something, Golden can do that. If he's still on the team, I am left to presume that Golden thinks he's better on the team than off. If you think our coach knows what he's doing, you don't have to advocate for a certain outcome. Just let the coach handle it. Personally I don't care what they do with Seantrel. He's one player. If he's our best option at tackle, I'm sure he'll play at some point. If he's such a problem, he'll either be off the team or be some kind of isolated pariah nobody cares about except the fans obsessed with the situation.

What special treatment has Seantrel received thus far? I must have missed the latest depth chart where he was listed as a starter. Come to think of it, I must have missed the depth chart where he was listed at all.

You guys need to get over yourselves regarding Seantrel Henderson. If he's done something wrong, the coaching staff will take care of it. If he hasn't, he'll have to earn his way back to being on the field. There's been no evidence of special treatment to date. No coaching staff or university in their right mind would kick a kid off the team for dealing with personal issues, no matter how trivial they may seem to a bunch of old men posting on a message board (and mind you, there's nothing trivial about death). Can you imagine how that would be used against us in recruiting? When the time comes that Seantrel decides to return, I'm sure the coaching staff will be very honest with him, how he's fallen behind, and how he'll have to earn playing time. If Seantrel doesn't want to do that, I'm sure they'll grant him a release. If he does want to do it, they'll welcome him back.

That should be the end of it as far as we are concerned.

Yep. It's pretty silly and petty to be rooting against him.

I think a lot of folks are frustrated due to the fact that a. He hasn't lived up to the hype b. He has been in various trouble since he got here and c. it is somewhat distracting to the other players. I agree that the coaching staff will handle the situation the best way they see fit, but I dont understand why you guys are upset that people advocate one way or the other? Some think he is a waste of time for the coaches and is taking up space on the roster. So be it...

It's not like they can simply replace him with a player that another team cuts like in the NFL or call someone up from the minor leagues like in baseball, so I don't get the "waste of roster spot" argument, at least for this season. The bottom line is that as long as Seantrel is healthy, he is valuable to this team be it in a starter or back up capacity.

People are too eager to express frustration. I'm disappointed that it seems like it's always something with SH. But, there are no special rules for him. He is going to have to earn his spot back. Not as a punishment, but because he has fallen behind everyone else because of the time lost. I'm content to let it play out. Either he works hard and moves up, or ....not.

I'm not rooting against him.

As a kid, I had an old '56 Chevy. Had a slow battery leak, and half the time I had to push it to start it. It ran really good once it got going, but was not reliable transportation. The wipers were vacuum wipers, and they were **** near useless and sometimes they worked, sometimes they didn't. My headlights had a short somewhere in the wiring, and they too would blink on and off depending on how many potholes and such I hit. No grille and no hood latch, so I had to bolt that down, and once forgot and the hood flew up going down the road. The shifter was a worn out junkyard throwaway and you really had to do some searching to find second gear.

Seantrel reminds me of that car. The high performance engine I had in it was phenomenal, and I won a lot of money beating Mustangs with it. Had the motor, but nothing else was reliable. Nothing.

I finally traded it for a cherry '57, because HE wanted the engine. But for me, an engine was not enough. That car was more damned trouble than the law allowed.

My life was much simpler after it was gone. I never 'rooted' against my 56 chevy.

It was, what it was.

I think I quoted the wrong post earlier. I generally enjoy your posts and would be surprised if you were actually "rooting against" Seantrel. That said, I still don't see how this team is better off without him even if he is just a back up, and there are some on this board who seem to revel in the idea of Seantrel going bust. I just do not understand that mentality.

Great post.

Why do we have fans that develop crushes on teens and stick their heads in the sand and continue to live in denial and make excuse after excuse for a kid that has clearly flopped so far?

Cane fans are ****ED and are VENTING. This kid could be a MASSIVE differencemaker and the fact that he can't get his head out of his own *** ****es Cane fans off. Unlike some of you, we are CANE fans FIRST, NOT Seantrel fan club members. His apologists seem to care more about defending Seantrell and making excuses for him, rather than the welfare of the team.
