The same finish

Gonna be a broken record here, but what was there on 53-year old Lance Guidry’s undistinguished résumé that made Mario believe he was the pick for DC?

One of my greatest fears about remaining in the third-rate ACC is that lesser financial resources would limit our ability to pay a proven staff. Couple that with Mario’s struggles in consistently identifying and hiring top-flight coordinators and position coaches and we’d never get off this merry-go-round of mediocrity.
Don’t worry Mario will hire someone a week before spring ball. After his insane vetting process is complete.

@DMoney how do the money guys that have made big investments these first 3 years under Mario, particularly year 3, and say sure let’s keep the money pumping in???

Mario creates ALOT of the problems for himself.

He has to absolutely nail the next DC hire and deliver a legit top 20 defense in 2025 AND find a top 20 QB or the W/L record is gonna look BAD BAD and then see what the recruiting looks like
To this point, they can step back and see progress. We've improved every year and we were nationally relevant this season.

Of course, we all know there is a ton of work to do before next season. A catastrophic step back is very possible. There is a lot of pressure to perform and it starts immediately.

Are they increasing their investment to try and take the next step? Recruiting is now $$$ based more than relationship based. Do we have enough $$$ to make a CFP roster for 25? Seems we are a long ways away still and need a complete overhaul on D staff as well.

This is the culture boys. The story of the season summed up in one game.

Poor coaching. Poor fundamentals. Poor discipline. Basically being seasoned and bailed out by a QB playing his last college ball and everything being exposed afterwards once that QB got taken out. Winning a top 20 ranked Bowl Game? Nah, put the backup in where everyone knows that he can't complete a pass post 10 yards.

There's nothing to sugarcoat here, we're going into year 4 and the floor for that season are 10 wins. If he doesn't reach that, we can consider the project Mario to be failed and ride this program into its sunset, cause there **** sure won't be any success happening afterwards.

Why does everyone say this? Like Mario is Urban Meyer so if he fails stick a fork in it? Program has made what, 6 retarded hires in a row including Mario? Indiana, whose been eternally irrelevant made one good hire and are in the playoff.

There is zero percent chance that six straight head coaches and a hundred assistants were all incompetent. Mario is the first coach to finally stop bringing in 60 south Florida kids, and lo and behold, we won 10 games.

we didnt improve from mannys last year to Marios first year. it was a step back that they sold to you as a WIP.

they got back to level last year from what Manny left behind.

they improved this year bc of Cam. thats it. the Defense was worse than Doritos ****.

the OL is the only area of the team that has improved since Mario took over.

Is there any chance Martinez could be convinced to return if the pay is right? Qb situations seems super bleak right now so having a sort of 3 headed monster ar RB with a solid OL would be a welcomed site. Not sure all 3 RBs would want to coexist together though. Would love to have Mesidor back for another yr...no clue what happened with Bain this year. Hopefully he snaps back next yr.
if there was nay shot Mart comes back, its gone now. that was a pro performance. make your money.

Coach has to find a qb and he has to fix this sorry *** defense as a Miami fan I shouldn’t have a sick feeling when I see our defense on the field this **** is unacceptable

Which head coaches weren’t incompetent?

Mark Richt and Al Golden, for starters. And Manny Diaz is showing that he can do at least something right. You just can't wrap your head around the fact that our recruiting base limited everyone. Their flaw was not expanding.

Replacing the entire D staff and all offensive production next year.

Massive uphill battle and Mario will be on the hot seat.

I said after his first year: What head coaches became successful after replacing both coordinators heading into year 2? The answer is no one.

Mario sealed his fate here and we just have to ride it out.

They need more than one portal QB. Emory should never play at Miami again. If Judd can’t beat out Emory, we should just move on from him. Thus, Luke plus 2 and we keep Judd one more year for emergencies.
agree. I've been posting that since last night. We need multiple portal QBs. It's not even an option
