Michigan proved that point as recently as last season.
My hope is that the RB joining the room wears #9.All the more reason to add another top tier RB...
Did I just watch all of the Bye teams lose? That's wild.
Elija Lofton is not a RB lol.My hope is that the fourth RB wears #9.
My hope is that #9 is our starting wildcat QB given what we have as of now in that roomMy hope is that the RB joining the room wears #9.
The difference is those other teams are decent in the other 2 phases of the game. Our defense and special teams leaves a lot to be desired. We'll see if MC will learn and adapt to fielding a complete coaching staff (special teams coach). If MC does not fulfill this, then that tells me all i need to know about his overall managememt and development of staff and players. The story for me from the College Football Playoff is the importance of the running game. It's the same story we've seen the past 20 Januarys with teams like Alabama, Georgia and Michigan.
The best running team (Notre Dame) and the two best running back tandems (Ohio State and Penn State) are in the Final Four. The two best individual running backs (Jeanty and Skattebo) were in the playoff. Texas beat Clemson by running and then almost got upset when Arizona State outran them.
The frustrating thing is that Miami can run with all of these guys AND pass at a superior level. This season will hurt for a while.
Big , physical teams with athletes for me . Trenches will always be the one consistent.Defense is the story for me. Georgia, Texas, Ohio State and Notre Dame all with elite defenses. Those defenses look night and day superior to anything we’ve had since 2003.
Notre Dame probably should have been ranked top 4 as wellWell 2 of them didn’t even remotely deserve byes.
They obviously have to and will revamp the seeding.
Texas and Penn state were 3 and 4 but didn’t get byes. They’re still alive.
He can run and he's a matchup nightmare if you flex him out from the backfield. From what I saw in spring and in high school, he's a better runner than CJ Donaldson who just signed with Ohio State.Elija Lofton is not a RB lol.
He's an H-Back/Fullback/TE.
But putting him at the RB spot would be redundant given we already have Fletcher in the Power-Back role.
Agree with this 1000%. Most painful season since 02 and 03… this is why we should bring in a portal rb (with size) … pause. Maybe Pringle is ready but pass blocking is so hard with tf… need a back, UGA got smashed with injuries in their backfield. The story for me from the College Football Playoff is the importance of the running game. All the more reason to keep him at TE, considering we're losing 3 of them.He can run and he's a matchup nightmare if you flex him out from the backfield. From what I saw in spring and in high school, he's a better runner than CJ Donaldson who just signed with Ohio State.
My thought is that we can add another cheap body at TE (McCormick replacement) and then a moderately-priced TE with some receiving chops like Bauman from Tulane. That frees up Lofton to play RB if there are injuries. All the more reason to keep him at TE, considering we're losing 3 of them.
It worked out with Martinez and fletcherElija Lofton is not a RB lol.
