Being ranked higher and higher and being in the conversation helps with recruiting WHICH IS HOW YOU GET GOOD ENOUGH TO WIN ALL YOUR GAMES, and BTW, your ranking can make you eligible for a BCS at-large bid. Oh, and guess what? You can win NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP without going undefeated.

So if god forbid we have a Sugar Bowl winning top 10 team, I'll be there proudly rooting for our kids while you're home in your basement battle chair complaining on the internet about how we suck.

I'm sure a lot this **** is simply trolls. But unfortunately their are a lot of "fans" that share this moronic, short-sighted instant gratification line of thinking. It's pathetic and sad.

Championships are sweeter when you can appreciate the journey. Especially if you've been down. That's one of the reasons I enjoyed 2001 more than prob any other. Because the joy watching a good portion of those kids grow and endure the previous 2 or more seasons made reaching the top that more rewarding.

Not because I needed a reason to beat my chest.
