The portal is a lie

Yep. So now you’ll have to keep ******** puckered all the way until enrollment day

Respectfully, I believe the portal adds a ton of value by creating a process and a point of online aggregation for all the players who wish to transfer. But that's what it should always have been meant to be (and I actually think that was what it always was in reality), a way to streamline all the transferring going on.

Entering the portal is the best way to do business but yes , if you know where you want to go and are cool with the money you can do this.
So technically we could have players coming and going at any time whether the portal window is open or closed lol. Literally no one is safe at any time. Def makes it hard to get excited over any play for long periods of time but so far it's worked out well for miami for the most part

The Portal is better than the old way of transferring where schools blocked where they could transfer

Now with Wisconsin not entering Lucas has opened up another door how players can leave

Guess we will see what happens next

College Athletics is a mess, & u can thank the archaic approach by the NCAA more than a decade ago, & the short sighted views of the U.S legal/p-word system.

College Football (FBS) needs its own oversight, & all NCAA legislated athletics should have a commissioner. The NCAA itself should only be relegated to academic regulations/qualifications only.

I shed no tears for the coaches. Fickell makes $8 million per year to figure this stuff out.
Yea idgaf about Fickell. He's an idiot and just opened this Pandoras box for no reason.

I'm just saying in general. And while you can say the top 25 coaches get paid a lot of money so they can deal with it...there's a lot of lower level coaches...and position coaches that have to deal with it too.

It's just a **** show.

If a school really wants you they should do this and avoid a possible bidding war. Tell the kid to avoid the portal, walk to the registrars office, pay the $50 for their transcript and enroll.

Keep seeing on here and Twitter thinking someone could unenroll from current school, enroll at another and play same season at both. Don’t schools have registration requirements and deadlines to avoid that?

i mean you never know, but I feel like that's the one thing that people can't get around or challenge - they are still student-athletes and would need to be registered by the add/drop dates in their respective semesters

with football starting after add/drop date, and January add/drop date right around national title games - I don't see a scenario where that could happen

Pretty sure the academic calendar prevents this. You can’t enroll in classes past a certain date. Although I wouldn’t put it past someone to try to go from a traditional calendar school to a quarters system one mid year.

correct, the ncaa does not prohibit such a move, but enrollments deadlines do in regards to institutions

This comes just a couple days after they said they want to cut out the spring portal window. But now you can just leave school after spring semester and go somewhere else with no problem lmao
