The one thing we do well

Fascinating that we are so much more focused on blasting Gattis and the O when Steele and the D were just as bad…

What is Zo’s role in all this? What does he have the power to do, suggest, pressure Mario to do?

Not sure, but I don't think pressure is the right word. He did not hire Mario. It's the other way round.

As the culture guru he will probably advise Mario what things can be done immediately, what things can be done down the road.

But if it is a culture thing that maybe will take more time to instill than just coming in and laying down rules, changing practice habits, and holding players accountable that have been doing things a lot different before his arrival.

I think there may be a certain mind set that has been ingrained that is deeper than changing the externals. There still may be too much baggage from the last staph. I think Mario needs to get his players in here before the culture can truly change.

Does he take all these divas to their safe space to hug together??

I don’t think Mario is dumb or nearly as stubborn as some think. He has a plan and he is intentionally using adversity in an attempt to establish a mentally tough team. I hope for his sake that he has the time to get the culture he desires via paradigm shift from Diaz guys or from recruiting his guys.

Now I don’t know much about Gattis but I typically don’t like ‘Up North’ type nickels running things at Miami; it just never pans out.
And surely Steele can call a better game but leaving these guys on an island is a teaching moment. This is clearly a break‘em down to build’ em situation. It’s old school, and may or may not work with these entitled and narcissistic youth of today. We’ll see.

I fully expect the Canes to look different the next time they play. This loss was dreadful for anyone emotionally invested but it is not a catastrophic loss for the program. To the team: Think better, Act better, Get better - T.A.G. - You’re it.

Being there in person, it was worse than the Clemson and FIU losses (two of the worse ever in person as a Cane fan that goes back to 1976). I lived in Memphis for a year and I don't even know where the **** Middle Tennessee State is at! Then to just put the icing on the cake when the game ended (yes I stayed till the end) it freaking poured rain, I had parked in the Yellow parking lot which is in a different county. My clothes are still soaked a day later. Just need a reset before the NC game.... yes I will be there cause as a member of this dysfunctional family ..... I always love my Canes!

Anyone making an excuse for any part of the organization from Mario on down is ******* delusional. There is no part of whatever toxic culture we have or roster deficiencies we have that are an excuse for losing to a team like middle Tennessee State at home in year one of a rebuild for a school that just lost to James ******* Madison
This ^^^^^^^^....end of story

Diaz used adversity. Golden used adversity. At the end they all stink

Roster is rotten and full of JAGs, cliques, soft dudes who don’t care. I’ll maintain that. It was mentioned by insiders yesterday.

15-20 players need to leave - and we need 28-30 in the 2023 class + Mel Tucker approach in the portal for bandaids.

With that being said, Mario needs to evolve offensively or we’re done for.
I hear this alot.

But it doesn't seem to account for the fact that other teams are doing that too. Unless you are leading the pack in portal, then you are likely just picking up other teams castoffs.

Make excuses.

The last couple weeks I’ve heard coaches blaming the wr’s , It hasn’t been a secret going back to spring. Then we bench our qb and suddenly it starts leaking out that the wr’s didn’t like him and it’s been his fault. He’s made them look worse than what they are lol. I mean who wouldn’t want to be in this foxhole with this staff, players and fans? It’s all good until you hit rock bottom then we gotta find a scape goat.

We‘ve had fans sliding in to defend the honor of coaches who have suspect resumes when it comes to offense and developing qb’s. Quick to throw a kid under the bus as a “ jag” or “bum”. Fact is I said TVD didn’t look right during the Bcu game and the S Miss game. Constant patting of the ball and choppy feet is a giveaway. I also said this offense was a dramatic change from Rhett. It’s very complicated. Which makes no sense in 2022, when you only get so much time in the class room. **** even the NFL has gone the way of college offenses, making it easier for qb’s to adapt to the pro game. On top of that the game is heavily slanted to the offense.

Yesterday MTSU repeatedly outnumbered Miami in the box by one, two , sometimes three men yet we still ran right into the teeth of the defense. That’s the definition of insanity. We’d rather lose and make a point versus doing the alternative. This offense is fish in a barrel , MTSU had the gun.

I’ve said my piece on playing in space , how it makes the game easier for the qb’s, wr’s, Ol and even the Oc’s calling plays. It makes disguising harder for the defense, it spreads them thin. But we’re way past that argument now.

We’re at the point where Mario evolves like Saban offensively or keeps beating his head in the wall. He’s hard headed as F so I know which way I’m leaning. When you say In the presser “ they had us outnumbered most plays , but we couldn’t block them up“ tells you everything. He’s talking execution when they had a one or two body advantage. That’s just stupid and something a caveman would say. You ever heard of “ work smarter , not harder?

I‘ve said for awhile If they aren’t tailoring this O to Tvd’s skill set they need to just go to Garcia. This scheme is more fitting for him. Just like I did with King and TVD last year. It looks like we’ve gotten the answer on that. Sadly it took four games to come to that conclusion.

This staff is being paid too much to put that product on the field , there’s no excuses. Hopefully everyone is doing some self evaluation. Maybe spend more time doing that than throwing players and teammates under the bus. Only the people in the locker room can fix this. There’s only two ways this thing can go.
Regardless of what changes are or aren't made with Gattis, I've pretty much accepted the fact that Ponce is OC in waiting. Unless of course Satterfield is fired at Louisville. Then I wouldn't be surprised if they'd get the FIU band back together for a year or 2. Either way this **** show is set up to continue for at least the next 5 seasons.

But... His stubbornness over his offense makes me wonder..
Who was Mario waiting to hear back from before he went with Gattis?
Were any of those rumored OC candidates really candidates? Like Kendal Briles. Was he really under consideration? And did Joe Brady tell Mario he was staying in the NFL or did Mario turn him away? Because neither of those guys run anything close to the offense Mario wants and predictably ended up with.

@LeedsCane you can probably answer this as well. I have a hard time believing either of those guys were actual candidates. They are way too pass happy for a Cristobal O.

When aTm lost to App State, they bounced back and beat us in a clunker and just beat Woo Pig in another clunker.
When Notre Dame lost to Marshall, they bounced back and beat Cal in a clunker and blew the brakes off UNC.
Hopefully...we beat UNC in a clunker and blow the brakes off VaTech and get this ship back on track.

Its all I got, brother.

Mario is going to change. I guarantee it.

The real question is…… how much pain will he make us endure before he does?
I agree. I honestly think he wants greatness for this program and will be given time to figure things out. He's gotta get better with game management and do so quickly.

I'm not the genius that thought Lashlee was our lord and savior. It's real convient how you hop on and off bandwagons to fit a narrative. I distributed blame accurately the strategy was not the reason we lost. A week ago you pretended Flagg turned the corner. I'll pass on Cribby hot takes.
I never was on his bandwagon dummy. Just because you say it’s true doesn’t meant it’s so. I can bump twenty posts where I’m ripping him. Rhett had his positives and negatives.

I also never said Flagg turned the corner this offseason , my exact words was “ I have bad news for the Flagg contingent“ , same with Ivey. I said the “staff loves both“. I mean you’re the same idiot that said and Shaq were the same guy. I’m on record saying Caleb and Keontra need his snaps. Unlike you I don’t need to bash the kids daily like a weirdo for two years.

Once again if lying is your strategy have at it. It just proves what we already knew with you.
