Relax on the Arroyo talk. I got worked up yesterday over it but after some research Im convinced he’s not coming.

1) Mario didn’t even hire him at Oregon, that was Taggart. Mario did retain him but from what I’ve learned today he strongly “suggested” Arroyo take the UNLV job.

2) In his 11 years as a HC he’s never once hired an OC who was previously an OC under him (positions coach? Yes, OC? No).

Don’t let Arroyo be the Ponce this time around.
Moorhead always seemed his speed at UO rather than Arroyo. Arroyo seems like a guy unlikely to drift away from the Left Coast much.

Not really. I'm watching some Duke condensed games from last year (bored at work) and there's a lot to like. It's not Air Raid, but the splits are definitely wider - lots of 11 personnel with 3-4 WR, 1 RB, 1 TE/HB. Lots of motion, RPO, screens but not screen-dependent. I'll chime in more as I learn more.
Yeah I watched some duke games last year and he did get a lot out of Leonard. I will definitely say there is A LOT of 11 personnel. I do like the added motions. Hes definitely the type of offense Mario likes. Longer drives to chew clock and Control the game. Just not much explosiveness in the offense which is my biggest gripe

I would love Mullen, but if y’all learned anything from last go round if the media has a name there’s a 99% chance it’s incorrect.

The only media member who will know anything before it’s official is Feldman.

The others are watching flight trackers and searching this board for Cribby’s comments like the rest of us.

Multiple reports over the past week that Mullen wasn't interested in interviewing for the Alabama OC job...you think he legitimately has interest in Miami? I'm just asking, I think it would be a home run hire.

Depends on the situation. There were quite a few explosive plays v. Boston College, especislly in the run game. I think explosive plays are there - he's just coaching at Duke. I'll need to look up explosive play stats at Memphis and such to maybe make a better apples to apples comparison.

Yeah I'm going to look into his other stops over the weekend gotta look at who the HC was at the time though especially at Indiana and how much Control he had

It’s click bait season, don’t believe anything you read from these so called “journalist”.

With that being said, Mullen has coached in BFE towns the last 20 years of his life.

If he’s actually considering Miami (and that’s a big if) it might be due to location.

Only concern with Mullen is his evaluations seem to be a lot of sh*t.

Richardson was still raw as **** under Mullen and when he left UF for the draft.

And outside of Richardson his QB evals at UF were G5 worthy.

His evals at Miss St. weren’t great either, to the point that even Moorehead couldn’t do anything with them when he got there. Offense is what killed Miss. State.

And you could almost say the same thing for every other position group at those two schools as well under Mullen.

Which is a concern when offensive evaluation, outside of OL, doesn’t really seem to be Mario’s strong suit. He still hasn’t actually evaluated and landed a QB worth a **** up to this point in his career.

But you still take Mullen 10 out of 10 times and bank on Cristobal’s recruiting ability being so good that he lands Mullen the can’t miss 5* QB.
