Doesn't Frank Reich call his own plays?
I think Reich does but Johnson has never been an NFL OC and not calling plays in the NFL doesn't have the same stigma that it does in college. You can get a HC job as a non-playcalling OC. Mike McDaniel did. Kevin O'Connell did too. Johnson was a candidate if Wilks got the HC job. Don't know what Reich wants.

There is nothing else to talk about on the board.. Mario doing CIS a favor!

I read today that Baltimore, Washington and Carolina have all requested and received permission to interview him after the Super Bowl. Plus if the Eagles OC gets a HC job it opens him up for a promotion there.

In the off chance he doesn’t land an OC job this year I doubt he will drop back down to College after just recently leaving a College OC job to become an NFL QB coach. He would most likely just wait another year as Eagles QB coach before taking that step.

That being said I think he’s a domino that a lot of NFL front offices and maybe Mario are waiting on to see which direction they go with other candidates.

That’s her…that’s the lady with the chicken bones and monkey paws….

I've been told it wasn't a panicked move. He just fvcked up. He was trying to move in silence and thought it was right. He also saw it as an opportunity to get Frank Ponce in as QB coach, which he was excited about. Jumped the gun because it looked like the stars aligned.

I won't say panicked because he still had Coen and that lead was warm and ready to go. Obviously wouldn't have worked out the second McVay brought him back we probably ended back on Gattis anyway.
Hindsight 20/20 he should’ve paired Ponce with an up and comer.

Exactly lol it’s literally a pipe dream for him to come here. Id love to be wrong but people are gonna raid the eagles staff sooner or later.

Their HC Siranni was hired by Reich when he got the HC job in indy. Siranni is still close to Reich so there probably has been talks about Johnson going to Carolina with him after the super bowl. Or if the cardinals hire one of the Eagles coordinators Steichen or Gannon then he will have 3 options right there to be an OC in the NFL and other teams will be calling also.

I think the Giants qb coach Tierney, whipple, or someone from the rams staff is way more likely NFL wise than Brian Johnson. Mario probably has names he likes and has contacted and is waiting for the chips to fall after the super bowl.

Yeah I hope I’m wrong but Johnson seems highly unlikely, unless he doesn’t enjoy being in NFL. Even those other names are going to have options. Tierney is going against Monken for TB OC while also waiting to see what happens with Kafka.

Whipple is 1 of 2 coaches the Cardinals have yet to let out of their contract and are not granting permission to take interviews until the new HC is hired and decides on them. There’s obviously other names who would be good candidates but If Mario is targeting someone from NFL he’s going to need some dominos to fall after the Super Bowl and we won’t have any clarity until sometime midweek.

The Eagles OC might be going to the Colts, so I could see Johnson getting that OC job

Did not know that. Wydermyer was good but not NFL good. They’re thin on TEs now iirc.
Yeah Craig was WR coach past couple years and things switched around last season. You right tho after Wydermyer left the room hasn’t been good. Yeah think Wydermyer was highly rated but the went undrafted
