College football is where the money is at... Dudes probably making a couple hundred thousand as a position coach, he comes here and is now making 2 mill.
or he can hitch his wagon to Hurts for another 2 years and get a head coaching gig in the league? Just like Dorsey is doing.

I got beachfront property in Iowa for sale if you think Brian Johnson will return to college to be anything but a head coach or OC at a top 5 program. He’s not leaving hurts for a risky gig that is Miami. He would be a moron.

Lake reported Coley interviewed for the OC job. Was very specific in mentioning it was for OC. TIFWIW, I know Lake has been off before but I **** near threw up
Lake doesn’t know ****. These grifters bring up Coley every chance they get when we have an OC opening because they don’t have any legitimate news to report but need to sell subscriptions. Or at least that’s how I am coping with this report.

If he’s making a significant offer then it’s very possible. I think people forget that Jedd Fisch propelled their OC role here into an OC role with the Jaguars. If they don’t get the roles they‘re looking for this years then this job would be a really good way to secure one next year or even elevate themselves to an HC. I think that especially in BrIan Johnson’s case that could be his exact plan.

No, I'm not forgetting Jedd Fisch. I am specifically saying that Jedd Fisch is, by far, the exception to the rule.

I agree with you, Fisch had been in the NFL previous to coming to Miami. But he also had a weird few years before coming to UM...

2008 - NFL - Denver Broncos WR Coach (Shanahan fired at end of season)
2009 - NCAA - University of Minnesota OC/QB Coach (Brewster fired halfway though 2010 season)
2010 - NFL - Seattle Seahawks QB Coach (Carroll's first season, team went 7-9, but won the NFC West)

So Jedd had a wild ride before getting to UM, and I wouldn't put him on the same level as "Brian Johnson", who is coaching for a team in the Super Bowl.

That's all. It's a lot easier to parlay a job with a Super Bowl team into something higher in the NFL than it is when you are on some bad NFL teams.
