The NFL is peeing on your face

I’m messing with you guys. I think cam goes number 1 overall. I’d love that NY stage for him though.
My brother told me the Giants dont draft black qbs, lol. I thought that was hilarious but they blew their chances for Ward by winning 1 too many games. Ill root for Cam no matter where he goes..

I dont know what people are b*tching about. Yes, the Chiefs generally get the benefit of calls (mainly BS personal foul calls against Mahomes) but I didnt see anything egregious in the AFC title game. Reminds me of the Canes last year when people just jumped on the bandwagon of whining about every call Miami got throughout the season because of the VT overturned touchdown. B*tching about targeting not being called, obvious incomplete passes not being ruled as fumbles, etc. At this point , anything that is remotely questionable will be chalked up as the NFL wanting Mahomes to win another title.

Absolutely not lol.
You really don’t think that there’s a cohort of the Jets or Dolphins fanbases that didn’t churn out due to the domination of the Patriots (and now the Bills - 5 straight AFC East titles with no signs of change until Allen retires), with the corresponding appearance or helplessness from 2001 onward?

I am a Dolphins fan. I don't dislike the NFL because the Pats or Chiefs or whoever is dominant for a given period.

I think "parity" is a myth in any sport, or in any walk of life, particularly over a long period of time. I'm not interested in it, and believe that efforts to make it happen are misguided, distortionary, and doomed to failure. Equality doesn't exist, period.

I dislike the NFL because getting through a game where you don't have a serious rooting interest is a chore. It takes forever. There are too many breaks. Commercials ******* suck. The stadium atmospheres are laughable. The game itself isn't very exciting.

The typical NFL fan has a poor knowledge base as it pertains to the teams, history, tactics of the game, etc.

It's a bad product that isn't interesting to follow.

Totally agree with that.

However the absolute dominance by the Patriots from 2001-2019 and then the ascendancy of the Chiefs is unprecedented. 11 straight AFC East Titles. 8 consecutive AFC title games. 9 Super Bowls.

And now the Chiefs with 7 straight AFC title games and 9 straight West titles. This NEVER happened with any franchise prior to 2001. Teams rose and declined within five year cycles.

I don’t know about rigged, but I think the NFL game has become boring. The impossible desire to reduce head injuries has resulted in so many rules that make the game difficult to watch. There is no perfect balance between old school violence and new school penalties as the league is trying to find.

Nope. I'm an Eagles fan but I have hated the NFL for the last 5 years. Won't even bother watching. I told everyone that would listen for the past week that I wasn't going to watch the AFC title game because I knew exactly what was going to happen. I said Chiefs by 3 end of story. Look what happened lol. Don't waste your time watching this rigged garbage.
You are holding on tighter than Barkley on the 4th down no call...

I kid, I kid...

I don't really dislike Mahomes or the Chiefs, but:
- back to back spots on the first down call - Chiefs
- no call on hands to the face by the OL - Chiefs
- Mahomes basically untouched into the endzone because no one wants to hit him

Game Over.

I’m not watching the Super Bowl and I know I am not alone. People are tired of this crap.

CFB has always been the better sport, but the NFL gets worse every year. It’s just not entertaining anymore. Unless you gamble on it, there is zero intrigue.

NFL wanted KC and Philly and that’s what they got. The rest of the country can root for a meteor to hit the stadium.

This upcoming game?

I guess we’ll see. I know it’s anecdotal but a ton of people I know, who are fans of all different teams, have no interest in this game.

Unless you’re a Philly or KC fan, you’re not happy about your options.

People thought ND and OSU would break records because of the brands involved, and it turned out to be one of the least viewed championship games. There is a fatigue factor at play. Unless you like to gamble, a lot of people don’t see the draw here.

KC chance at a 3 peat. Blah blah blah. No one outside of KC cares.
The reputation the Chiefs have for a favorable calls could turn a lot of people off from watching. I’m not a conspiracy theorist to think the NFL wants a certain team to win and rigs the games accordingly. A lot of games have bad calls, and good teams will benefit from bad calls more than others because they’re good teams. Bad teams can’t get away with mistakes because they’re bad teams.

Of course you always have people who are very casual fans who only watch the Super Bowl for the ads. I imagine a lot of these are at Super Bowl parties so it’s kinda hard to tell how that affects ratings. One guy watching the Super Bowl alone from a couch versus 20 people in a living room on three big screen TVs.
