Perryman was decent but what are you saying that he was some All-American? He was not a dominant player he was just very good for a freshman. You guys are so desperate for linebacker play that we are acting like he was junior year Dan Morgan. Are we expecting that some guy is going to come in and do the same? Maybe maybe not. We know what we have with Buchanan he is decent and coming off an injury that may impact his best aspect. At the end of the day it is most reasonable to expect one good linebacker one decent linebacker and one mediocre linebacker without much if any experience depth. At times during the year...Perryman looked on par with Sean Spence in my honest opinion. All american ..no...but he wasnt mediocre as u have already said.
Don think were desperate for linebacker play...e've had a group of Sharpton, Mccarthy, and sean spence...those guys to me were better than avvg linebackers.
-we know what we have in Cookie..........YES...hes been a STARTER here for awhile on some solid lb units...he's experienced and when healthy in my opinion hes a solid acc linebacker.
-In my opinion our lb play should be a bit better...as i believe our dt's will be better.A healthy Porter is better than ANYTHING we had last year....and we have rotation guys and alot of depth at dt...also guys should be more comfortable with the scheme this year.
-Gaines in my opinion played out of position last year he's an olb.....Futch was TERRIBLE...I expect this years lb's to be better than last years group and thats with the loss of spence.
