The Bank (8/3)

Well since it looks like you are new to the recruiting world can you guess when our class went from top 3 last year to top 7?

I'll give you a hint it was after August.
I’m the rookie and you’re talking about a drop from 3 to 7 concerning a coaching change with a controversial, yet extremely enticing hall of Famer?

What the f^ck does that have to do with anything?

Why can’t you put down the orange and green cocaine and objectively admit we’re struggling to land the studs that were CONSTANTLY alluded to over the past three months? It’s people like you on extreme ends of the mope/slurper spectrum that drive off the legitimate posters on here.

Very few have said boo hoo it’s all over for Miami. That would be asinine.

It’s equally asinine to think everything is fine and dandy barely hovering above a Top 20 class that’s even worse in average ranking per recruit. It’s miles behind FSU and UF right now, two in-state rivals that have verifiable worse recruiters. Can it change in the blink of an eye by landing 2-3 studs? 100%.

So do it.

Oh here’s the “it’s only August crowd” again.

Once upon a time, it was only June. Then it was only July.

Keep making excuses though.

I dropped this in the other thread but this may be the meme to encompass this years attitude to recruiting. :ROFLMAO:

It means wake up. A lot can change by December. Stop being such a ******.

I'm just hella annoyed right now our rivals are straight KILLING **** on the trail and yet this "quiet confidence" of ours got us landing zero star recruits and ranked 18th...... and it's AUGUST.

all that best summer ever, best dl class ever..... man those recruits had the best VACATION EVER. That's all we were. A **** vacation trip.

to be honest, I'm not pumping sunshine in our class, but FSU class is very unbalanced and this is a down year when it comes to OL nationally, and there in particular aren't top level players. They have limited commits on the DL, who aren't takes for us. Both of those positions they're not strong with to begin with. They're doing well with WR and DB, which I am jealous, but those players are easier to find at the college level.
They won't be able to pass or defend it when they're QB are on the ground and we can have all day throwing it.
Meanwhile, UF class, which Napier learned from Saban as well, balanced class, I like that class, just again, talent wise not strong on OL and DL, and again not strong on the LOS to begin with.

We'll see how it plays out but I'm oddly ok with things are going assuming we get a couple bigger fish down the pipe and fill in some gaps for long term, and I think the portal is always going to be a bigger thing for Miami moving forward, since the glamour of Miami is hard to resist as an 17to 19 year old, but when you've played a few years in CFB and come here for your last last or two, its easier to resist. Just my two cents, which is worth wayyyy less then that.

Hence why I don't cry in August. Welcome to recruiting.

I’ve said multiple times you can’t count out Mario when it comes to recruiting; and at the same time, he would be the first to tell you this current class is unacceptable by his standards.

All one has to do is look at our class last year at this time versus where we are this year. We definitely had some studs commit later (Samson, Bain, Brown, etc...), but the vast majority of our class was committed by now (and better ranked).

With a good season Mario probably does close a couple uncommitted guys in December, and maybe flips 1 or 2. Sure. But we should all be able to recognize it is August and we're talking about winning games and fighting to close in the top 12, when only 2 months ago people were talking about winning games to close in the top 5.

While I agree he would also tell you recruiting is Marathon not a Mile.

Florida didn't look worse than us last year.

We looked way worse, it's not even debatable.

-They beat the PAC 12 champion Utah.
-They played FSU to the wire in Trailerhassee 45-38.
-They competed and lost at Tennessee 38-33.
-They beat Texas A&M by 17 in College Station.
-They lost by 10 to LSU
-They lost to UGA by 22
-They beat South Carolina by 32

Listen they had a bad season, but their season was way, and I mean miles more competitive against a tougher schedule than ours was.

We lost to Texas A&M by 8
We lost to FSU by 42 at home
We lost to Mid Tenn State by 14
We got blown out by Duke by 24 at home
Too soon!

landing two out of Simmons, Stone and Franklin would be incredible!! All 3 would truly be program changing

WANT Z. Patterson and Cole sooo badly! I think both of those dude in this defensive scheme can be All-Conference/All-American caliber players

Kevin Riley news gives me a woody!!!

Still would LOVE to add Heyward at CB (Mario's structure and holding people accountable would be good for the kid)

3 1st rounders at OL.......F**K YES!!!!

Calling it now, James Williams will have an All-ACC year and set himself to go in the first two rounds of next years draft.
You get a boner when looking at men

Never go full Gaytor! This is almost THE EXACT stance UF fans took to cope with our class last year. Again, and I stress, NEVER GO FULL GAYTOR.....EVER!
