He can't get OPT as a high school student, and he can only get work related to his major course of study on OPT. I don't see where he would qualify for employment authorization, unless he can claim eco

The obvious solution is to be an $EC school and just pay him under the table.

It was discussed in relation to Lou Hedley. Can't pay US NIL money to non-US-citizens.

There are work-arounds, both legal (as LW did with Lou) and illegal.

EDIT: and I hope this goes without saying, but a foreign individual who desires a long-term residency in the US is probably well-advised not to break any laws prior to being granted citizenship or permanent residency...but I'll let my immigration attorney brethren respond to that one themselves...

You have more options once you're enrolled in higher education with a major course of study. For a high school kid, it would be a lot more complicated.
