A good season is a season that has fans and outsiders optimistic about our future.

My best example rom recent seasons would be Mark Richt's 2016 season. Yeah they had a four game mid season losing streak including a tough loss to FSU but they turned it around, won the final four regular season games and topped it off with a bowl win. There was a generally positive feeling about the direction of the program at the time and it didn't seem weird or fluke-y.

Good observation - just think what it would be like if we were Slippery Rock. A sudden rash of suicides, blue hair, doorknob hangings, clap breakouts, burning rainbow flags - suddenly purchasing Prius's, jorts, and Bud Light - organizing nose-picking competitions - net t-shirts - and demanding we drop football to form a Curling mens, women, and combined teams machine.

Assuming other schools have 0 commitments over the next month…..

That would have been the 18th best class last year which would be horrible imo. However, i think some of the 3 stars get bumped up and I also think they'll land more than what you listed. Class needs to be top 10 minimum.

We could get 8ish more people from the portal and really hit the ground running at the start of 2024. But on field performance is the biggest thing this year. 8 wins and everyone is on the hype-train next season.

I don't see us being near as active in the portal next off season. we'll obviously need a few guys (e.g., at Safety, probably QB1 unless Brown/Williams are proven ready). But for the most part, we're going to fill the gaps with 2024 and ride with the kids Mario's already signed.

Would be the first time in two decades. I think you ARE asking for much. But I agree that is the general expectation given the resources being thrown at the program right now.

You guys do realize we can continue recruiting kids committed to others schools, right? I would not worry about who is available in the top 100 or whatever. Like D$ said, look like a program growing into something special and flood gates will open.
 
Without going into detail about what I have heard, simply look at Dmoney's banks or atms the past few months. Pay attention to how many names Dmoney said the staff felt real good about and prioritized certain kids, than within a few weeks you had new names appear and the others disappear. And it's a mixture of lower ranked and higher ranked kids.

The fact is, the staff has missed on quite a few kids so far and misread there position with them as well. All these new names are not because they all of the sudden became more prioritized.

With that being said, we are going to land studs in this class. No reason to freak out yet. But I assure you we have missed on quite a few recruits we really wanted. It's well over double digit kids.
