The Bank (2/20) (workout buzz)

Reading a lot of optimism about the DL. Do you guys (@JHallCanes @Odysseus et al) feel like we have enough talent that even if they're almost all unproven we shouldn't go portalling?
I don’t know anything about Blay so it’s hard to for me to say

I don’t like the Bain to DT move but if he does go there then I don’t think there’s room for the portal

I’m sure Justin Scott wants to play and he’s getting paid to play

So I’m always for portaling for DL help but I don’t see us doing it because we’ve got some expensive young guys that need to play

I feel like we have enough top end talent on the d-line really and it just needs to be developed especially the young 1st & 2nd year guys. We have the older guys leading the way in Bain, Mesidor, Blay, Moten leading the way until the premium young guys take off

One of the young pass rushers need to step up and/or Bain returning to his freshman form. If someone like Pickett for example can become a factor that itself can change the defensive outlook.

So, you were in all the conversations between Mario/staff and Blount about playing and foregoing his redshirt? If not, then you have no real idea what you're talking about
PFF has him down to 47 snaps in 6 games with 2 tackles on the season

Every player is allowed 4 games without burning their Redshirt

So what was the point of playing 11 meaningless snaps in his final 2 games???

That is called malpractice

Redshirts do NOT matter anymore. If the kid is the goods, he'll be gone in 3 or 4 years anyway. If he doesn't get burn, he'll transfer.
Alabama has 40 guys on their roster heading into to spring practice that have received a redshirt

Based off this list, when you don’t account for the incoming freshman

40 have received redshirts, 18 have never had a redshirt

and we all know Alabama recruits at a **** of a lot higher level than Miami does
