Level of competition in high school and coming in late. I believe he will be in the rotation this season for sure.I honestly thought he’d see the field as a true freshman. Curious as to what’s holding him back. It’s not athleticism, weight or strength, kid is built like Cici on the other side of the ball.
My guess Emory on a 8 yard bombWho threw the picks?![]()
Bain if he doesn’t drop weight is my guessI want to know if the top 4 DT are all healthy and fast twitch -- Moten, Blay, Scott and Horton? That position group is not deep enough. Anyone else looking like they'll push there?
I would fold up like an accordion with what that kid doesThat’s some serious @JHallCanes lookin **** goin on over there.
Redshirts do NOT matter anymore. If the kid is the goods, he'll be gone in 3 or 4 years anyway. If he doesn't get burn, he'll transfer. They burned his redshirt via malpractice
Redshirts do matter, when you’re recruiting a kid, you’re telling him you’re looking out for his best interest as wellRedshirts do NOT matter anymore. If the kid is the goods, he'll be gone in 3 or 4 years anyway. If he doesn't get burn, he'll transfer.
For a 17 year old, I agree. But that’s the exception. Most cases, kids aren’t trying to redshirt and invest in themselves. Everyone is trying to cut corners and get into the league or make more money in college.Redshirts do matter, when you’re recruiting a kid, you’re telling him you’re looking out for his best interest as well
Blount burned his redshirt to make 2 tackles all year as a 17 year old?
You can still get every player 4 games of burn without burning their redshirt

I’m not disputing those stats but we all know those facts are irrelevant to an 18 year old out of high school. Now, NIL and the threat of hitting the portal has changed the game.Only about 1.6% of all NCAA football players make it to the NFL. Of those drafted, only about 30% make it onto an NFL roster.
They definitely do make more money the longer they do stay in college
Blay, Brantley, Beck, Poyser, O’Connor, Brokermeyer all had redshirts and now they are all poised to be major impacts for this team
Mario has generally done a good job of playing the players that belong on the fieldI’m not disputing those stats but we all know those facts are irrelevant to an 18 year old out of high school. Now, NIL and the threat of hitting the portal has changed the game.
I respectfully disagree. I actually think we could have done better job playing more younger guys in several rooms.Mario has generally done a good job of playing the players that belong on the field
Highly rated players in Lightfoot and Okunlola both got hit with redshirts
I think he finally turned 18 the other weekI can’t wait for Blount to quit being 17yo.
It’s been 84 months.
