What argument - He’s not going anywhere for years - Are you a smooth brained troglodyte?

Right now I’ll take Jamey Chadwell, Chris Kleiman and Dan Mullen over Mario but that doesn’t matter because he’s here for years like I said.

It’s the same problem we run into with the portal. We bring in a bunch of guys on defense who don’t help us. Like bring in 2 CBs who can play and it has a real impact not numbers and guys who can’t cover but but but he’s got length and physicality (pause).

The same Chris Kleiman who lost to Houston? Or the Jamey Chadwell who lost to ******* Kennesaw State?

But I’m the one with the smooth brain.

This why we can’t have nice things. Because the expectations of this fanbase call for firing a coach after 3 years if he hasn’t won a national championship. So we are doomed to just repeat this cycle forever.

I’m not even the biggest Mario fan. I’m just not going to **** my pants when we are on the verge of winning 11 games for the first time in 20 years.

Yes. All of them. Dillingham too as I said. Mario. Ain’t. It. And I was going to games as a kid on seasons tickets when we were horrible in the 70’s so I’ve been around for it all good or bad so don’t you tell me why I can’t have nice things.

Clement was the QB when I started caring about football (1995) and proves that I was a Canes' fan even in the days when our starting QBs threw more interceptions than touchdowns.

Here in this photo, he is explaining to message board mopes why 2022 Middle Tennessee State was sneaky underrated.

We can’t lose to MTSU under Mario and FIU before Mario but I get that they were better than people would have thought.

@RVACane you said it yourself, there is literally nothing you/we fans can do about Mario other than gripe or cheer for the next few years. So I choose to cheer.

As far as the 2025 HS class goes, you're dead on with the holes. Some quality there. But not enough. As far as the rest of it, I think you're being too hard on Mario. But that's my opinion.

I knew Radio wouldn't get it done the moment he was hired. You don't promote from within when an organization is failing. Golden lost me when he flirted with Penn State and refused to change defenses. Richt lost me when he showed he wasn't up for firing his son and was clearly having health issues. I LOVED the Mark Richt hire btw, and if he had been 5-10 years younger he would have made history. Manny was a good DC overall and surrounded himself with some good coaches. But he was an epically bad recruiter and talent evaluator, and was woefully unprepared to be a HC at a top P4 school. He's grown since then. But you can't change how bad a recruiter he is.

All that is to say it's really hard to find great HCs who make great fits at Miami. I still believe Mario is that guy. More importantly, the billionaire NIL funders still believe it.

I think one thing the current NIL era has shown is that the traditional “great recruiter” aspect is less relevant than ever. Money equalizes that. I also think Mario’s evals have been fine at RB, TE and OL but not special elsewhere. CB evals have been dreadful. They look for tall physical dudes and ignore cover skills and speed.

That’s why I’m saying that the way forward after this will be an evaluator/developer/solid game coach. The kind of hire that can turn a yearly top 15 class into a playoff spot and ACCCG appearances.
