@cway313 announced that he would not mope on this board if Mario signed Cam until Miami lost their first game. If he has broken that, then he should be sent to purgatory until Miami actually loses. So, do you have proof that he has broken his word?
Should the ***** that cried wolf go to purgatory for making **** up? Or is this a one sided affair?

You've actually misstated what he said. Nobody cares about cway enough to send him to Purgatory, and besides, that's not the purpose of Purgatory anyhow.

You need to pick a better horse to ride than cway.

I'm glad not to see Tyler Williams' name mentioned among the WR's specified.

I think part of the disappointment from some about the class so far is tied to our lack of traction with an elite outside WR1 who can separate as a route runner, bring premier RAC ability, and stretch the field vertically, especially given what we're seeing from Smith at OSU and Williams at Alabama. Our WR haul may still end up as very good, but it sounds like we'll have to wait another year to try to get that Jeremiah Smith, Dakorien Moore-level receiver.

A DB class with Pickett, Hanks, Antoine, Merritt, and Stubbs would be an absolute grand slam, though, and provide a much-needed infusion of premier talent in the secondary.

Ultimately, the portal QB we're able to land -- assuming we prioritize one -- will be the most important player acquisition of the offseason. Closing strong on the trail and landing a top-tier portal QB to take the reins from Ward would provide plenty of cause for continued excitement.

I hope I am. But in order to get into the Top 5, we have to get to at least 290-295 points. UGA right now has the #5 class, and they have 293. Could kids flip from those Top 5 schools? Sure. So there can be some movement. But I just don't see getting quite that high.

Let's do this as an exercise. Let's say we keep every kid we currently have committed, and we add this haul, which I think we can all agree would be absolutely insane and probably not very likely:

DJ Pickett
Vernell Brown III
Jarquez Carter
Ben Hanks
Kellen Wiley

That's 27 commits........and puts us at 287.77 points. Still not enough to get into the Top 5, in all likelihood. Even adding Elijah Griffin to that puts us at 295. Probably right at the cusp of the Top 5.

So I don't doubt Mario. There isn't a soul on this board who wanted this guy (nary a hint of Diddy, btw) more than me, and it's because of what he does on the trail. But it's just a math problem at this point. So, if I had to bet, I would say we do not get into the top 5, and #6 is probably the ceiling. JMO. I'd be more than happy to be wrong in December.
Is OSU in that top 5? Because if we get Carter that would reduce there average and ranking.
