I know lol. I was just sharing my opinion while taking the opportunity to clarify my position for anyone else reading.

Does anyone else think Pickett is James Williams part 2? Tremendous athlete, but doesn't seem like a sure thing at CB and not convinced he fits at S. Not saying Pickett is a 15-yard penalty waiting to happen virtually every play...

No I don't. Pickett is much more fluid than Williams with much superior lateral quickness. His ball skills and instincts are far superior to JW and he has a much higher football IQ. They are nowhere near the same.

Do you consider anyone in that section a whale? … Ewald was choosing between us and UGA, Fitzgerald and Gilbert are pretty highly rated, Merritt and Anding are both 3stars and lower rated than Carter even is… but some might consider landing like Anding a major coup like Antoine is

The first group are the whales. I guess. Merritt, Anding and Ewald are all being recruited hard by Miami and others. I suppose any of those guys could end up as whales though I think I like Merritt and Anding best of that group. We’re off to a **** good start. I think we still ll could get Pickett as well.

Oh… I’d consider mcnutt a whale. We weren’t after him though??? I guess I have to leave him off any chart

I wasn’t making a comment about who was a whale or not. I didn’t know there is a prospect this cycle named “Amari Carter” and thought you meant Amari Wallace so made a joke about Carters history of targeting calls by “throwing a flag” on what I perceived was a innocent mistake on your part.

I would make a distinction between “whales” and someone being a great prospect. For me “whales” are national recruits everyone wants ranked in the top 10-15 at their position who drive up bidding wars for their commitment. Usually they are in the Top 100 nationwide or close to it.

Now that doesn’t mean if they don’t meet that criteria they’re not great prospects. For instance I don’t consider Merritt a “whale” but I consider him a great prospect who I rather have than a whole lot of guys ranked ahead of him.
